First posting, good morning everyone in the forum.
Retired. having a understanding wife allowing me to go fishing “freely”.
Hence has packed my fishing bag to go fishing if any one allow me to tag along. In my bag beside the fishing necessities, have also a small pack of first aid kit, an extra ration of biscuit, a hammock, an extra 1 or 2 PE bags with perforated holes for holding haruan caught, also equipped with first aid knowledge, a body able to track 6 to 7 km in a go. a chatting mouth to keep you awake during your driving to and fro the fishing site. Do not need to bring back the catch. Any fishing welcome except sea fishing due to instant “marbok” on rocking boat
Encouraged to go fishing as time spent for fishing will be doubled to extend your lifespan.
Waahh you must be very rich one to retire at 13…heheheheh. Welcome.
Aiyo Dear tiger2my why talk about rich or not rich, rich or poor also can go fishing together what.
When I can go haruan fishing with you so that we can know each other better.
Sifu Maguro, please download your Bujuk photo caught yesterday, surfer like Mr Marlin will pester you.its the other way round..Any way what is the weight of your catch? How did you cook this clever fish. Asam or Steam..or porridge slice fish..Your next trip ?
The bujuk was 1.2 kg. Caught using plastic “sotong” look, so call tube rigged with a worm hook thru the tube and a round lead hidden inside. Cast to the opposite bank drag it down to the water, let it sink then reel with jerking rod tip action till the grass edge at our side, dangle the tube there for a while. Then the water just explode and ended with the bujuk in my keep bag. Just a lucky shot and nothing much.
Do not know how to cook the bujuk, any suggestion from our friends in the forum.
Don’t know how to post photo yet, wait till I learn up. Meanwhile studying Sifu Jeymatt posting on this subject hope to learn up soon.
Aiyaaa still no angler willing to allow me to tag along for haruan or any other fishing. Maybe have to elaborate a bit more why beneficial to take me along for fishing.
(1) In my fishing bag I have a small pack of first aid kit with waterproof packing. In the first aid kit I have:
2 pcs 80mm x 60mm sterilized pad plaster,
6 pcs 72mm x 19mm water resistant plaster,
3 pcs Alcohol swab,
3 pcs sterilized cotton gauze,
1 roll 75 mm width dressing bandage,
1 tube of antiseptic cream,
1 tube of antihistamine cream,
6 tablets of pain killer,
1 can 100 ml ethylchloride spray and
Scissors and tweezer come along with my Swiss Army knife.
The above are basically sufficient to handle any minor injury and provide first aid to certain extend.
Haruan fishing, with hooks flying around, chopping all along the way, crossing unreachable terrain etc… depend on how macho you are, you just need the above.
Do you carry along a minimum of the above when you go fishing? If you do not have, let me tag along when you go fishing next, I have the above.
(2)… want to know more, let me tag along when you go fishing next. hehehe…
i know you said no sea fishing, but you are most welcome to join us,it just takes a little getting used to ,and let me assure you,its great, nothing compared to freshwater fishing
email me or call caesar1956@yahoo.com or 0165688969
cheers caesar
Just hope you dont ever have to use those. Good to be prpared though. Maybe a long parang will come in handy too, to chop along and for self defence! You never know, if you intend to be at those difficult places.

warlord
Dear Maguro , there’s still one place left on our July 7th Trip to Malacca straits.. I trusted that those unexpired tablets will keep your ear drum balanced .. Isaac said he had another trip with his Cousins on the ninth July.. Pulau Perhentian.. As such, decline our Sungai Besar outing..our age group range from 20 plus ..onwards ..the young boy will keep you company maybe for the next 40 years.. Foods for thought.!
Bro Caesar1956 & kenchen,
Thank you for your offer to go sea fishing with you, sorry might not be able as once I joined a Pulau Aur 4 days 3 nights trip, I survived the 3 nights on shore but knock out the whole 4 days “marbok” on the boat chumming the sea. One day trip might be ok as I used to go Tripletails hunting along the Tanjong Karang / Sekinchan sea line.
Bro chewkbeng
Thank you for coming with a long parang to help me to convince other anglers to allow me to tag along to go fishing.
Indeed the first aid kit we not only hope but pray that we don’t have to use it. Just in case not for ourselves but for our fishing friends who are with us.
A parang as you suggested is an essential necessity if you go for haruan and other land base fishing. Chopping and slashing your way to your favorite spot, removing casting obstacles etc… and importantly as you said for self defense. Oftentimes we heard lone angler been robbed at remote and lonely fishing spot, with a parang hanging around your waist might deter the situation. However good you are, don’t be a hero to go fishing alone, at least with a partner, any help needed at least you have someone there with you.
Thanks chewkbeng for helping me with your suggestion.
Any other suggestions from other forum friends to give me a better chance to enable other anglers to allow me to tag along to go fishing.
If you got a 4x4 we go bash haruan and bujuk on weekends.

maybe you could start with a one day boat fishing trip, and then slowly work your way to heavier stuff
Jaswon Bro,
For bujuk and haruan I am quite familiar with fishing ground around Batang Berjuntai and Bukit Beruntong. Requiring a 4x4, sound like venturing into very remote ground and very promising. If 4x4 is necessary I can arrange. My contact: multimex@gmail.com. H/P 019-2669671.
Bro Caesar1956
Thanks for your suggestion, one day trip sound exciting. Will have to take Novomin but still in several of the bottom fishing trips, the moment the boat stop I turned green and start chumming the sea. A friend commented: “I know you always have sea sick, but never know that it is that fast”. In another time with Novomin too I was able to survive a Sailfish day trip at Kuala Rompin. I just don’t know why. I will try for one day trip as you suggest.
Last sunday 12 of us caught haruan and bujuk 800gm to kg. sizes about 70-80. The fishes there are nice eating and the place was Sg. Tinggi. A canoe or an inflatable would come in handy for the place.
