Minta comment skit sape2 yg dah guna Revo MGX
baru pakai 1 bulan… so tak banyak boleh komen. model yg saya beli ialah MG-X L 7.1. sedikit perbandingan dibuat dengan kekili lain kepunyaan saya seperti alphas-R edition, calcutta 51, dan abu morrum sx1601 IVCB telah dibuat…
MGX dilengkapi IVCB brake system (4 arm) . ini merupakan ‘braking mechanism’ kesukaan saya. bagus untuk low-speed presentation. kejadian bihun goreng amat jarang untuk lontaran biasa. lontaran long-distance mungkin terjejas sedikit. bunyi yg kuat ( saya suka bunyi mekanikalnya, ada yg benci) pada kelajuan tinggi semasa casting. setting di sideplate jarang dilaraskan melebihi 1/3 putaran. untuk long distance casting, saya mengeluarkan 2 brake arm dari IVCB, dari 4 jadi 2. thumb control perlu mantap untuk mencapai maximum distance. disyorkan penggunaan gewang 5-10g suka.
frame/cage diperbuat magnesium alloy (X-mag), dan sideplate locking assembly juga X-mag. tidak sesuai untuk air masin. no comment.
handle sideplate dan sideplate yg ada adjustment dial diperbuat C6 carbon resin (sejenis graphite seperti Zaion daiwa dan CI4 shimano). so far no problem. tiada ‘play’ atau kelonggaran. ringan. tak benci, tak suka.
berat reel hanya 154gm, ringan. selepas casting seharian, boleh rasa perbezaan jika dibandingkan reel lain. pergelangan tangan kurang stress/fatigue. suka
drag carbontex yg licin dan kuat. amat suka
swept carbon handle dan EVA knob. amat suka
smooth retrieve semasa free-winding(unloaded), masih smooth retrieve masa kena gasak juga. suka
kaler hitam ‘matte’: suka.
harga dlm rega rm700 +/- . boleh tahan.
9 HPCR bearings… suka.
anti-reverse bearing tiada ‘handle play’ seperti kekili shimano. suka.
28 inci sekali karau…kira laju juga. 31 inci untuk model mgx-shs. suka.
saiz kecil. suka
so kesimpulannya, 90% suka reel ini. yg baki 10% lagi tu kena tunggu selepas setengah tahun untuk dinilai ketahananya. sekian.

Although its marketed as a finesse reel, I personally think that while it’s not inpossible, it cannot cast sub-5g lures as good as what the alphas Ito, pixy, presso or conquest 51s or any other finesse reels. Lebih sesuai untuk lures 7-12g bagi saya. Very good general purpose reel for me.
From my own experience with ivcb, I think the best for finesse or sub-5g lures will be the simple 2-pin centrifugal system like the old Abu morrum sx hi-speed reels, and the pixy SPR. Maybe the revo LTX will be more suitable rather than the mgx. But the ltx is magnetic instead. But I don’t normally cast sub-5g lures, so you’re better off with opinions from TJS and gang.

5g is about the comfort range of the reel… below tat is not impossible, might not be as fun tat’s bout it. Can’t pitch well with sub 5g lures, however if u overhead cast it, i think 3g still able to cast, then again like i said, not as fun as other more finesse reel.
FT bro… good challenge! will see which koyak first… but contrary to ur liking of EVA handle knobs, i hate it to the max! tat’s y i get those shaft to change muahahahahaha…
and yea… superb general purpose reel for most local species, from haruan to sebarau to tomans. I think tat reel fits the bill the best.

Thanks FT & TJS. Im using Elite IB. After i chance my stock bearing to ZPI bearing, i able to cast 3g lure about 10m.
But not so easy to cast compare to lure above 6g. Maybe MGX can cast better after upgrade to sic bearing. Not sure yet
is better or just a same. Im not so sure about IVCB system. I heard MGX will come with shallow spool in future like LTX.
By the way, MGX is good enought if can cast 5g to me. I hope MGX user can give review here if user upgrade to sic bearing.

i upgrade mine to Boca OS ceramic bearing, not much difference if u ask me in casting distance, it’s stock is good too

5g should be the lower limit of it. try installing ceramic bearings(with very thin oil like rocketfuel), and try to remove 2 brake-arms… that should do the trick. and oh, most importantly, a very educated thumb to feather the spool. yup, a shallow spool should be coming out soon.

Not 2g. 3g with 15lb Powerpro & MHX 8-15gm. My rod is stiff not for lure below 5g. But ok still can cast bcos i did tuning my IB. Maybe i get MGX to pair with my custom rod for fresh water only.
