Weng - was in Kepong this afternoon for my weekly retail therapy and saw the new Daiwa Emblem rods. Feels like a lot of backbone for the price - and in striking white ! Have a look [:)]
Thanks Mike. I was there on Saturday too to collect my baitrunner sent for repair (broken alarm sound). Saw a Daiwa too (but black in colour, forgot the model). Very nice. Somehow black is my lucky colour. Didnt see the white rod. Also tempted to get the Abu Garcia Conolon PE1-3 jigging. Also very solid. Will go there tomorrow night to have a look at the white rod.

It was not only luck - but I also believed that a dark colored rod would be less visible until a guy asked me … " if you are a fish, and looking up to the surface of the water, which color are you more likely to see ? "
I now have a few white rods for close up pond fishing.

Did not see any sky blue ones in Kepong yesterday - but I still got my ancient snake whacking ABU Pacific Zoom !
Funny thing - this theory may not actually work - look at all the bright red rods that are now hitting the shelves. Many of them could be used to help land a F18 on an aircraft carrier lah.[:D]

joining competitions where anglers r shoulder to shoulder, it’s not bout enjoying the fishing anymore, it’s about enjoying the prize after dragging the biggest fish out. haha.
after joining one of those, it’s enough for me already. too much pressure. the fishing is not enjoyable at all. unless u win! haha.
he can buy it for other purpose ma… its a good rod with a cheap price tag 
Haha I have 2 dark colour rod and another half red half black colour rod. I was landing consistent number of fish with the 2 dark colour rods before I switch to the half red half black rod. Then everything went haywire with that rod. For 2 straight weeks, I caught zero,or just 1 or 2 fish each trip. Think until my head crack on what is wrong with my bait, rig, or even blame the weather. Then one day decided to change back to the black rod and from that very day it went back to normal. Very pantang hahaha
Alex, it was tempting, but realise it is a 1 piece rod ? Very troublesome to bring leh…

Yalah, fishing competition is not like our usual leisure fishing. Leisure fishing should let us release daily pressure. Whereas competition (like all sports, singing, beauty peagant etc) top priority is about winning. The environment during fishing competition does not allow us the enjoy the fun of reeling in the fish.
Many people feels that professional sportsman are very lucky because they can play the game they like everyday and at the same time earn a living. But I think when they are in the trade, they will face pressure and eventually feels that the sports is no fun at all.

I very pantang only lah hahaha. Doesn’t apply to all other fisho. But I’m sure there will be some lucky colour that an angler prefers when going fishing. Like Apekcina must wear red underwear ? [:D]. I will always wear my lucky cap when go fishing too. I think when come to fishing, I’m an extremely superstitious chap [:P]
