Rod Repair.

Guys,

Any shop to repair rod in Kulim or BM? My Ryobi Legend 7 footer is geeting old and need some replacement of epoxy and wrapping. Need your advice. Thanks.

To recondition a rod like what you want will
take three times more than constructing a new rod, proper stripping of the rod plus rebuilding it like building a new rod, binding and proper application of epoxy. You ask around and let me know how much they will charge you.

Hi Uncle,

Let me check with some of the shop. But I think will be around RM 100.. But the main reason is I cannot find such shop that can let me know the actual price. Or Uncle can agak-agak to let me know? Cos I only need to re-wrap the binding the tread and nice epoxy as the guide is already SIC. Feel wanna change the handle seat and cork handle as well.

If you can find a shop who can do it up for you at RM 100, you quickly quickly pay him 1st and then only pass him the rod.. [:D][:D]

Rough estimation is easily cost you 5 pieces of RM 100 to reconfiguration or repair your rod the way you wanted it… [;)]

Har?? Don scare me leh Bro Fisher… But I think really it is true cos that shop tell me about RM 100, but due to no time for this beginning year, he reject my rod (T.T)… Well, nvr mind.. Let’s see got other shop can help or not.. Hehehe..

You try to go back to that shop.. pass him RM 100 and say you are not in a hurry … he can slowly repair the rod and want to collect in 3 months time.. See what he answer you? [:D][:D][:D]

Hahaha.. Bro Fisher, the shop owner say to me at least need to wait until November as he already pass the business to his brother, who is non-fisho…[B)] He’s now change mood to shooting.. lolxxx… So this is the reason he cannot make the rod to me now.

For a professional job well done the way you want it, Fisher is correct, he is not trying to scare you.[:D][:D][:D] I would suggest you buy a new rod, it will be cheaper. Or you want me to build a new custom made THOMAS STROKER ROD, see some of my latest batch:

Not a problem Uncle. I have a question. let say i just want to change the eva handle to cork handle as well as changing the reel seat (Fuji), is it still cost more than the rod? No need fancy design. Sorry if this is noob question.. hehehhee..

Why cork handle ???
Other customers are changing from cork to eva for easy maintenance. Whatever you want cork or eva, I take the job for RM100.00 WITH OUT POSTAGE. If you want the rod to be sent by courier, please pack it inside pvc tube. To and fro courier service on you.

Normally for changing guide rm6 for single leg and rm8 for double leg, and price will be reduce if it take the full set of changing, for handle, normally it depend on how long and material used, etc EVA is cheaper than Hypalon, but hypalon is more tougher than EVA, EVA also got grade, easy torn, soft, hard, super hard.price normally rm8 to rm25 for 1feet++ long, and workmanship around rm10 to rm20 per handle.
