Please don’t laugh [:D] Can someone please let me know the way to Ayer Kuning? You know, ‘the lake’ in Ayer Kuning to fish for peacock bass? I’ve been there in the past with Roberto about 3 times within a month but I can’t actually remember the way now [:(] Also, I can’t even remember the name of ‘the lake’. All I know is there’s this small wooden hut near the shore where we usually launch the boat. Other than that, I just can’t remember. Please help. A big thank you in advanced. [;)]
Exit Simpang Pulai and head towards Bt Gajah
After the flyover t/lite in BG make a 180 right. Nx t/lite take a right and head to Tg Tualang.You will come accross a T junction,turn right to Tg Tualang and keep heading straight to Sri Iskandar.
After an arch on this road you need to turn left after a mosque then proceed straight all the way till you come accross the bird sanctuary sign…hopefully the sign is still there lar

Thank u Roslan. do u have a satalite map (i.e. google map type) of the exact lake to fish? i can remember the bird santuary thing, but not the way to the lake

Fancy a trip to A.K sometime in mid-Feb to early March? Willing to share cost (fuel, etc.) [:D] Roberto and myself might be going there, if only I can convince him that fishing is really a good hobby to take up again [:D]

btw, (this is probably not news to you) I just heard from Roberto that the access to the lake at the bird sanctuary has been cut off. A ditch was dug by possibly the plantation owners to prevent anglers from getting access to the usual part of the lake where we launch out boats.
Does anyone know any alternative route to a spot where we can launch out boat to fish the lake at the bird sanctuary? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few entrances, to various spots, info from forums & mags, but I’ve not bothered to take note nor remember.
I’ve only tried two pathways - the bird sanctuary path which Roberto says might be inaccessible (I didn’t know that) and another pathway through some sawit estate, which I don’t remember at all too, because somebody brought me there. Still, the lake that you mentioned, was the best, Roberto was the one who took us there as well! I remember the article by you and Roberto. Good fishing, ya?
I’ll try digging up my mags and lookout for the AK article, the one with directions and other info. I’ll post it up, if I manage to find it. I hope I still have the magz…
thanks minnow. if u can find your mags which shows the alternative route to the bird sanctuary lake, that’ll be most helpful. pls post it here when u find the info. i can’t believe that someone actually dug a ditch. i went to that lake with roberto in july 2006. fishing was very good! this time i hope i can find my way to the lake with Robert.
