any one when to kuching sea for fishing???
i plan to go, want some “information”
- what fish we can get in there.
- using wat bait ?
fishing there is awesome. expect ikan merah, tenggiri, sharks, cobia, trevally, grouper, jenahak, kaci…etc etc etc.
i last fished there years ago, but i remember squid being a very good bait. on our way out to sea, we passed a nelayan on his way back…quite hard to miss them cos they gotta wait for the barrage gates to open…we bought a big pail of fresh squid from them.
night fishing produced sooooo many ikan merah and kaci…2 hooks 2 fish…just makes sure your line doesnt snap while fishing for them or the whole school will ciao de mao!!
Went with Tekong Ah Beng last year.
Have to say it is one of the easiest spot to fish in Malaysia, if you still can’t
catch fish, then you probably this hobby is not for you.
The fish there is so dumb, it will eat even rotten baitfish (mostly selayang)
that you just chop in half. Not need bait presentation, no need fresh, no
need to streamline your rig.
Most abundant is the Ikan Merah, although this fish is not my choice for the table, as
the bigger specimen will most likely be “rokoh” (tough). Other catches includes
red-spotted grouper, kaci and other karang fishes.
Night fishing, is all about tenggiri… tenggiri… and more tenggiri…
if you are hard working, you can easily land close to hundred pieces per 3D2N trip.

if any bro here wana come to kuching for fishing, i suggest go to Paloh is the best cus most of the fish can get is grouper, red fish, tenggiri, belokok and …
Bait- normally we use sotong fresh as bait or fish meat like tongkol, kembong and other species. but the best is sotong fresh because most effective…

i just back from there last 2 week very nice place to fish. i get back 400kg of fish from there.
morning time we fishing using set apollo mostly we get kerapu and red fish. and night time tenggiri, some time can get other fish like haruan tasik ( using floting), and bottom i get a shark and some unknow fish name. after turn on the light u can see alot of sotong beside my bout. plan to go on this september agian…[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D].

i did not take the name of the boat, my friend arrange every thing.
but i got a trip on this coming early september and end of september i will go KK.i try to get it for you.
but the bout i take this trip, he did’t using the angle to stop the boat. just let the boat folting and drop our bait to bottom wait 1-2min then change spot.( got fish or not fish also change)

Sounds like Ah Beng’s boat, day time always do drift fishing.
Night time only will anchor, mostly for tenggiri.
