Hi, I’m looking to get one. Went to one shop in KL they want RM340. Check on ebay (M’sian seller) it is just below RM300. Someone said it is around RM200ish at a shop in Port Klang but sadly that shop is now closed. What is the ‘normal’ price for this reel actually? thx

If you are prepared to accept a " downgrade ", have a look at the new Ajikings - you can get 5 for the price of a Shimano.
We have used them extensively over the last 2 months without any problems so far - and even if they do self destruct eventually, you do the mathematics.[:)]

The cheapest & best bait runner is the rubber band.
The best normal price is rm375.00.[compare with Kepong & see]
My plead is to let the tackle shops to survive.

I have a few Shimano, DAM, Penn, Okuma, Ajiking and Mitchell. Not able to provide a test report - only impressions.
Shimano - excellent for durability, and good enough even for the Pla Buk in BSR. My top choice for heavy work if money was not a problem. Look also at their " Fighting Drag " series - again not cheap, but good stuff.
Okuma - value for money, durable, but a bit heavy.
DAM - cheap, light, but mine got loose very fast. Still works, but has lost it’s solid feel.
Penn - like most Penn’s, built like a tank, and weighs like one too.
Ajiking - the Freeliner series is light, and damned good value for money - and is serving my light pond fishing needs well. Have not used them for anything over 3 kg yet - so comments qualified.
Mitchell Predator 200 - my favorite mini bait runner for small fish.
Tica - have only seen them in the shops - zero experience.
Hope the above helps - I like bait runners.
Tommy - Yes my friend, we should all support the shops who work hard to offer us the tools, advice, variety and options, to enjoy our hobby. You cannot put a value to relationships [:)][:)][:)] but watch out for the rubber bands - they do not feed the loose line out in a controlled manner like a bait runner ya ? [:D]
mike (shhhhhhh) ajiking have 2000 series baitrunners now( rm60-70++ only)..my hand is ichy to get em before you and EK sailing them at u know where

acheong - look first at your application. Quality will always come with a price, but the cheaper stuff is good value for the light pond fishing that we are doing.

Don’t get me wrong - just that would you spend money repairing a Rm60 reel ? The service charge would be at least 50% of that amount ![:(]
