if not too much to ask, is this model considered higher / lower positioning than spin joy? looking at the jap. site, this surfleader is much more expensive than spin joy. to add to the confusion, local pricing (melaka lah) terbalik plak. or r my eyes playing tricks eh?

cheers

Binjai, neva trust a sinker number. There are a few factory making lead sinker, so the numbering is different wan if compare to the other maker. just take the sinker to kedai runcit and timbang…[:D]

I do pendulum with it coz good Port Klang fishing spot not many flat surface beach, more granite type…[:D]

Hi Binjai,

I’ll try to solve your problem lah…my personal views, okay.

The FV series are telescopic models from HX-T, GX, FX, EX, DX and CXT and the HX models are shorter (12 footers) and lighter while the CX is stiffer with lengths 13 and 14 footers.

Rightly said by Superreel, they can easily be differentiated by the codes i.e. HX = 20-360, DX = 30-405 or 30-425,etc. eg. CXT 35(the higher the number,stiffer)-405(higher number means longer).

Since telescopic rods are very much lighter,I’d prefer to use the CXT35-425(14 footer). You get leverage on distance when doing the overhead thump for fishing. I never pendulum with telescopic rods coz they are not built to withstand such powerful cast…takut patah lah, he he.

My second choice would be the 425DXT (30-425). In my view 30-35 weight would be ideal for all round beach fishing.

Just my thoughts…

MSC

bang aznaff… mucho gracias for the write-up… that’s quite a bit of info u have there. thx again. yup, agree that telescopics might not be able to withstand a pendulum cast… prolly coz the blanks r much thinner? hence lighter compared to normal blanks, but at the expense of strength to withstand the load…

well, no cxt model to be found here in mka, so i guess my best choice wud be the dxt lar… my reason for getting this rod is more of a convenience thingy, easy to store & transport and lightweight summore… rather than based purely on technical specs. advantages or wat not lar

cheers

yo kkkia, no worries mate. btw do you have those light tele rods spec no 1-3 length 450 to 530. a few of my mates ask me to look for them too. i think you should be able to find these rods. korea and jap stuffs are ok to us.[:D] ps. don't under estimate these rods mate. been able to land 2kg drummer with these rods using 6-8lb normal mono leader if it's hooked on the lips. mind you! drummer pull as hard as snakehead and play damn dirty. will always head back to rock ledges when hooked. it's long, light and whippy.(only good for sea or beach fishing with lot's of open space) good stuffs to promote for sea fisho who are looking for some challenging fun.[:p] my apology to bro binjai for using your thread.

I know uncle superreel, i am using those tele too with a BC reel. Sometimes i pretend to be Grander Musashi(go google if you donno Grander Musashi[:D]) with it wan…hahaha…[:D]
