Anybody here own this reel? How is the performance compare to Daiwa Saltist?
I would always recommend a Shimano reel, however in this instance I would suggest the Saltist as having the upper hand. The Toruim 14 is compact and very robust, but the Saltist is probably smoother to use , solid metal and easier to service. i have a torium 16. used once only… don’t do much seafishing actually.
its smooth to crank, drag is extremely smooth, and it’s unbelievably fast (1:6.1). a bang for the buck i’d say.
