I’m a newbie here, still new in this cruel fishing world.. [:p]
Lately I’ve been dreaming of fishing big tarpon at Florida Bay (maybe it is due to constsant racun from youtube [:D] ).
So i would like to ask anyone here to suggest a beginner fly combo for a newbie like me. don’t ask me to buy Abel la of course, tak mampu la [:D]
Some of my friends suggest me to buy the Ross Flystart combo wt5/6 or something like that. If anyone here have any other suggestion, I really appreciate it.

I would agreed with that Ross Flystart… a budget set… try that out and if you really like Fly Fishing… then later can up-grade lah…

we have met b4, i think twice in 2009 during ngeteh sesion at kodai gaung…three of us came from p.dickson. being low profile i just sat n listen only,did not dare to interrupt “otai talks” :D. i don’t know what set to suggest you…let the senior fly anglers give their opinion, i think ross flystart is common basic set, eventhough i don’t have any…get one n we can hunt for milkfish in lukut

yes, came with faizal. i stay in seremban, work in p.d. it’s just that i live in seremban,can teach a bit la, but not proper n not exactly follow rules as i’m also new n still learning.. i only like fly fishing but definitely not an expert/sifu on it…still got many friends who are far better,
that milkfish so difficult to hook,(maybe i don’t know what the correct way) be it spin casting popper with bread, bread chum, pellets, chartreuse fly…didn’t entice them at all…instead some tarpons got enticed by chtruse fly but still no hook up…jom try!

now our ngeteh location already changed to Ayu Angsana at Taman Bandar Senawang. The place is much more quiter, can chit chat peacefully and also have WiFi. The new place also much more exclusive (new housing area at Senawang). no problem loque. actually I still didn’t buy any fly set yet, still surveying the best beginner set.. some people said just take the Ross combo wt5/6, but some people advise you better buy seperately. buy a good rod like TFO, then buy a good floating line. For reel, just buy a regular one no problem… still thinking…
