Went with Mike to not 1 but 3 death valleys[xx(] aka tackle shops[xx(] yesterday and managed to get away without spending a single sen[^].

First we met up at pudu. Visited 2 death valley there. Despite Mike afamous 20sec rule, he still had to pay some toll aka purchases before we got away. Mike then suggested we go to another bigger and more potent death valley aka kepong tackle…the moment I enter the DV, Mike tried to poison me with a beautiful pak kor chuk aka white daiwa rod…I then tried his 20sec rule…it works[^]…the problem was…I kept repeating his 20sec rule on his recommended poison[V]…slowly the poison got immersed into my system and my DV antibiotics gave out the alarm…alas it was too late…the poison was edi imbedded[xx(]…For brotherhood sake, we ordered 2 similar rods…luck was with me[^]…they have only 1 poison potent left. I swiftly recovered when my DV antibiotics turned up to turbo strenght and subtley let Mike took the DV poison bait.
Whew[:0][:0][:0]…thats was a real close call…fortunately I got away[:D][:D][:D]

Next " White Fruit " rod will be the Abu Garcia Veritas - when PF decides to bring it in.

The only problem is that a nice white reel like the new Daiwa has the same cost as 4 of the white Daiwa Regal rods !

The white Pfeugler would have been more cost balanced, but all the small models have been sold out [xx(]

wkl - thanks for the company - next time I will do a better job by selecting something that is readily available [:D]

Mike…I offer to help you with the “White” reel to pair with your new white rod…just get any reel you fancy…send them to me..i will spray paint it white…absolutely FOC/NO COST[:D][:D][:D]…since FOC…dont complain on the final finishing la[:I]</font id=“purple”>

wow, such close calls ! [:0]

there’s a Daiwa TD-X HSDC rod available at RM560± … 30% discount belum kira lagi … [:p] … blurb sez very good for dropshotting [:p]

it’s WHITE [:D]

If those are the silver colored Team Daiwa’s, I was made a basket case a few years ago when I whacked a few of the spinning versions. Fantastic rods for all types of light fishing.

Are you saying that you saw a white one ?[:p]

mike bro… i have a td-x white one casting 4-12lb… u wan? i not use to daiwa rod so i really not going to use it after 1-2 use anymore… only 300+ hehehe[:p]

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

That is exactly the weight that I use the most, and it is white ! - but the problem is that BC’s and me have a very good understanding. I do not disturb them, and they also do not disturb me [:D]

Actually what I am looking for is a white spinning reel - yeah, this is why wkl has offered to paint me one.

Thanks a lot guys - appreciate the help.

hahahah good one… maybe i should just modify the blank to a spinning… the handle is worthless till i bought another gloomis to custom one for the same application… have been finding a buyer since then, and obviously everyone hate tat rod

white reel? hmmm… shimano have a new one coming in the line-up i think… and the daiwa bradia is tat what u meant?

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

WAR: it’s not about who’s RIGHT, it’s about who’s LEFT

The Daiwa Regal white with a black handle is what I bought. The range is all around RM 150 - RM 180. Beautiful rods for the price - and I will give it a try on Thursday if it ever stops raining !

The new white Daiwa spinning reels that I saw were all in the RM 600 range ! - fantastic feel, but a bit of a mismatch ya ? - that is why I will wait for the Abu Garcia Veritas for a better match.

As for Shimano - I had a white one years ago - cannot remember the model - but the stupid thing started to turn yellow on me - looked terrible after a couple of years so I gave it away. Hope that they have fixed the problem.

hmmmm, well, silver would make it a little gray-looking, yeah?
this looks white … metallic white … kinda like pearl white.
and it has 3-4 cute minute laser/holographic squares just below the stripper guide.

second Wong Sifu’s take … i’ll find a use for wotever gear that ppl wanna give away … [:D]

OT a bit … that difficult to use BC, meh, bro?
i’m seriously considering getting one.

No problems in the pay ponds, open areas - but I also like haruan bashing in secondary forests, deserted plantations, etc.

These often have a low over hang - and I can just about manage to side cast or flip my spinning stuff.

" … kinda like pearl white. " - took my Daiwa outside in the sun - yeah, it does look like that - completely different from my silver Team Daiwas.

" second Wong Sifu’s take … i’ll find a use for wotever gear that ppl wanna give away … " - don’t misunderstand - not trying to be Santa Clause - but giving stuff to young challenged kids to start them on a hobby that they can enjoy is quite common among us older guys lah. Cannot " take away " with us mah ?[:)]

Escape from Death Valley - Part 2</font id=“size2”></font id=“purple”>

Upon realising my DV antibiotic kicks in, Mike aka Death Valley Honcho[}:)] took me to the most addictive section aka SPA[xx(][xx(] [Super Poison Applicator]of Kepong Tackle aka Klang Valley Death Valley King[xx(]. All the poisons here are of the elite class[V]…Tenyu, GLommis, Xzoga, G Craft, just to name a few. Be forewarned[:0]. At SPA, the 20sec rule dont apply. Work it down to 10sec for safety as the poisons at SPA is way more potent than any other sections. Mike[}:)] administered poison after poison on me [handing me rod after rod] almost till the point of no return[xx(]. My head is telling me - dont succumb to the poison but my heart is saying otherwise…a classic case of the body is willing but the soul is not[;)]. Luckly none of them beauties were…er…er…truly straight so the poison went slightly off target[^]. I quickly made my masterful escape from the SPA[8D]. Only upon my escape, did I realised that I was sweaty on both hands…wat a close call[:D][:D][:D] </font id=“purple”>

There you go bro…

TJS - unless I am mistaken, what you have is the bc version of my Team Daiwa spinners - silver in color.

Just a tip - wash the cork handle down with soap, very lightly sandpaper with fine grit - and put on a coat of U-40 Cork Sealer - the handle cork will look like new, and never stain again for a long long time.
