Sufix 832 Advanced Superline

Just got it today -

Line Test :20lb/9.1kg
Diameter :0.20m
Length : 135meters
Color : Low-Vis Green.

Currently im using Sufix Performance Braid:-
Line Test :25lb/11.4kg
Diameter :0.20m
Length :135 meters
Color :Hi-vis Yellow

First Impression:

The obvious difference between those two lines are that 832 appear to be rounder, feels smoother but a bit hard than Performance Braid. The color of the 832 does tend to strip off when i reel in the line, but seems like it has a thick layer of coating which i think will maintain the color longer than Performance Braid does.

Will try the casting performance soon and let u guys know my review later. [:)]

I have tested and compared both sufix performance braid and 832 advance…and here we are:

Abrasion resistance:

Sufix 832 definitely more abrasion resistance than performance braid. I have the chance to test both line on the rocky area and without a doubt, if you want a thin line with superb abrasion resistance, go for 832. I have never encounter a line cut-off with it on 3-hours of rock fishing comparing to twice line cut-off with performance braid.

Construction:
As it is appear rounder than performance braid, you will not likely have to worry of getting your low-end guide to be cut-off by this braid. Unlike performance braid, 832 is very quiet when passing through your guide. And because of this also, you will not encounter line-digging issue like performance braid does when you reeling in your line in the spool.

Performance:
I haven’t have the chance to really test it performance since i didn’t manage to catch a big fish yet :-S…but i am very confident you can rely on this line to catch big fish (within the line limit of course).

Casting:
Last but not least. Very important to some people including me. The casting performance. Despite all the advantages 832 have compared to Performance braid, Performance Braid cast better! :open_mouth: …surprise..surprise…I’m facing a lot of backlash using 832..which is very frustrating. At one time, i thought it was really me and the brake setup of my curado is the problem…but then i realize that it really was the line casting performance. I cast a lot better with Performance braid with the same baitcaster reel, same rod, and the same brake setup of my reel. I dont know what happen exactly…but from my point of view, i think it has something to do with 832 line coating.I notice that when the line is soak into the water, u will get the sticky feeling when touching it with your fingers. My opinion is that, this will cause much more friction with the line guide and thus, deteriorate it casting performance.

So, gentlemen..if you want a line which have a great abrasion resistance..this one for you…but if you want a line which can cast far..Performance Braid it is. That is the end of my review

Claypot 182,

Good feed back, especially on your report on casting. I’ve got a spool of 10 lb green 832 at home some months ago, but haven’t had the chance to spool it up yet. hahahaha … gonna have it paired to a spinning reel soon, i hope the performance better on spinning than bait caster.

Thx for the review claypot182. Been looking up on this Sufix 832 for a few months. Found it at TackleBox Subang, I touched & feel the 40lb one, feels too stiff (probably the GORE coating), as I’m using spinning reels, my spool needs soft, smooth & limp lines to cast out far as it slides out the spool. Don’t think I’ll use it for freshwater fishing, but perhaps, good for bait-caster sea fishing.

Regards,
Hennesy

I think this line is excellent for deep-sea fishing…the line will go through your rod guide without a sound.
