Kuantan Distance Casting Malaysian Open Champion - June 2007 - 211.56mHi Ikang Aye,
To familiarise yourself with this interesting sport, I would suggest that you visit the UKSF Homepage, Jersey Casting Club’s forum (strongly recommended) etc.
I keep myself abreast with the tournament casting development through these sites, very informative.
Apart from UK, other countries that have world class casters are Italy, France, USA, Australia and to some extent Japan.

Danny casted 285m this last weekend maybe a official new world record.
few Australian casters have recorded 270 metre cast.
Hi auscaster,
Yeap, Danny has done it again and the official results has been announced. His official recorded distance is 286.6 meters!!!
I think this will be the new world record as Surfcast Wales International is definitely a sanctioned tournament.
Oh yes, welcome to the Forum ya…and I presume that you are from Australia, yes?
Australia has got world class casters as well namely Scott and Lee…
Care to share how is the distance casting scene in Australia?? I’m sure you do distance casting as well…what do you use and what’s your distance. Any tips…he he.
Ikang Aye,
If you are interested in the local distance casting news, there is an article on the Kuantan Distance Casting Tournament 2007 in the August issue of Rod and Line…I wrote it actually, he he.

Hi …Thanks for the welcome
Yes I live in Melbourne Australia and I cast only during the winter month
And fish in the summer
I am not all that good PB is 202m ATM but still learning
Scott, Lee, Jeremy and few other casters in Aus are very good
They have a more aggressive style to there technique
Hit them hard I am sure you have seen some of the cast on youTube

I use the pendulum 1 and Abu’s mags.
Yes it will be great to swap ideas and tips on the website
Cheers
Hi auscaster,
202meters is very commendable down here and Singapore.Very very, I mean very few of us can even reach the 200meter mark.
I’m currently using the pendulum/dead swing or cross tip style. The rod I frequently use is the Zziplex LT14 paired with the Abu Sports Rocket MK II converted to 5500/Chris Macey mag system.
Distance wise, I’m still struggling at 180meters…he he.
What about you?
