surf casting at teluk senangin

Recent CNY me n family went to teluk senangin for a picnic n family gathering. Naturally i brought my surf casting gear. we were there for 3 days and 2 nites. Alas it was doubtfull as the catch was almost zero except for the occasional catfish(sembilang) and craockers (gelama) but my neighbour did catch a few toothy croackers(gelama taring) . It seems eventhought the neap tides were longer periods but the current was almost non prevelant. I guess it wasn’t the best tides to fish in …I would be glad if anyone could give me info on locations to surf casting and dates or best tides for fishing the beaches of N.Sembilan and Melaka as i am planning to surf cast on weekends this month…

Hi,

My favourite spot in Malacca is Kuala Linggi beach, the tidal effect is minimal and the water is quite deep thus you can actually fish all day long most of the time.

For Malaca the breakwater spot at Tanjong Kling behind a big tennis court has quite deep water. It never dry up even during very low tide. U can try there.
Big fish on shore mostly U can get is sting ray. To target them U need big bait on a bottom feeder rig. Fish on a good running incoming tide has a better chance. But to bring them up U need big reel with smooth drag on 30lbs line n a strong rod to pump them up.

to make it easier…follow the road to pantai remis if u r coming frm ayer tawar thru the palm oil plantations…at the end of the road there will be a sign board - right to pantai remis and left to lumut, take the left and drive until you meet the sign board leading to damai laut resort and teluk senangin signboard…drive for 15-20minutes and you will meet a dirt road…keep going towards the left of the road… you will see a bunch of chalet resorts and WALA…the beach…for bait you can jala prawns and belanak at an area near a small hill at the far left of the teluk senangin beach…[8D][:D][:)]
