If you have 2-3 hrs to spare, I suggest you just walk around Beach Road area. There are around 10 tackle shops or more within the 1km radius. Those i can recall:
Angler Outfitters
Hotspot
Lure Heaven
Sabre Tackles
Joe’s Tackles
Hong Guan
Chop Hock Heng
Born2fish
Google for their website and you will have an idea of their locations to navigate around.
Just be mindful that not necessary the tackle price in SG is cheaper than MY, I found most Daiwa/Shimano/Abu stuff are more ex in SG due to higher overhead plus the 7% GST. But certainly you will have more varieties to choose from around Beach road.
If you are like me, and do not mind " old model " stocks - keep an eye open for their price offs when they clear stocks for the arrival of all their new stuff.[:p]

this is the most dangerous condition.
If you have something specific to buy, you either get it or you walk away. If you do not have anything in mind, all things looks nice.
beach road is one of the best spots to recce
based on FK forum feedback, stay away from HongGuan … if only for their relatively higher prices

actually HG not that bad la, they nowaday carries quite a fair bit of china brand stuff. If u dun mind the quality and just went for cheaper price stuff, the variety at that shop is actually not too bad.
Honestly from my personal experience as occasionally walk in customer into a tackle shop (not as long term customer), the customer service and friendliness that I received from KL tackle shops are much better than those in SG
