I think there was a similar occurrence during the angling fair sometime back.It was a Saltiga if not mistaken.
We can see some tackle shops wire tie to secure their expensive reels to prevent this from happening.

My friend had 8 stainless steel rod holders stolen from his boat berthed at the dry storage yard of a Yatch Club in Selangor. Bear in mind that they were screwed down tight.
