I do have a similar set (spiderman themed) I got for my son. It is actually a rather competent set, with a spincaster reel. Not surprised that it can land big fish but 20lb is a fantastic catch on most sets. I am sure even you will be more than happy to land a 20lb fish on that fancy custom made set of yours.

the reel is a spincast, looks like a baitcaster but no birdnest. My son had been using a similar set and now graduated to a Daiwa spincaster. The old set had hooked many Pbs, Jaguars and Lohans at the Subang Lake.
you should be getting a set for your daughter, who knows she may just out fish you.

Actually all my kids cast well with a spinning reel AND catch fish. My son is already casting is using a baitcaster!

As we always said if you put a line in the water(pond) you stand a 50-50 chance of getting a fish and if you dont…you wont even have a chance. Fortunately, the parents help her to land it…those pike jaw is more deadly than a toman hehehe…

Actually, pound for pound our Toman is a more aggressive fighter then those cold water fishes; testament from western anglers who had the opportunity to hook up a Toman!

It can be any type of fish but if it weighs 20lb or 8kg is still a extremely good catch. Getting a 8kg catfish on that kiddie set would be a great challenge.
