30 & 31 JULY was a memorable trip for a family of three
generation, consisting of grandpa, son and grandson
hunting for the sails at Rompin. The sails were hard to
by, but we managed to land four with four strikes [100%].
The highlight of the trip saw a 14 year old lad, landed two
sails all by himself. The score: Gandpa=1, son=1, grandson=2.

nice. Is the season hotting up? I hope the catch rate will be higher in Oct. By the way can I just bring two reels and you bring some nice light rods?

Hi Mike,
The skipper & I were trying our best to look for the sails,
we did find them in shoals, but but not taking our baits,
especially the second day, they were just behind our boat,
could be they were leader shy, we used 3 three rods, 2 with
60lb FC LEADER, Kolby landed only one on my light rod with
30lb leader. The three generation did well, I enjoyed their
companies.

no problems mate. I break I pay. Was thinking of a PE1-3 rod.
My chinese friend would need rods too. same - he break he pay. Also good chance he get poisoned and buy some off you to take home. Maybe bring some butt joined pe1 - 3 rods.
