Don’t take away the mother haruan from the fry. Teach the mother not to take anglers’ bait, catch and release them, soon they will learn.
No future for haruan kaki if there is no haruan mother to protect the fry.
Be a good angler, don’t let the love of fishing turns into obsession.

Add an in-line or overhead arm spinner in front of your SP and see the difference in the haruan catch rate.
If you are using in line spinner, make sure you have a good swivel in front of it to prevent line twisting.

For crystal clear water, your haruan bait need to look very natural, appearance and action wise, the retrieve have to be fast.
For murky water use good vibration, highly reflective bait, with much slower retrieve.
Retrieve with intermittent pause increases the striking chance.
Generally haruan size increase proportionally with water depth. Retrieve bait at bottom level of water get bigger fish.
It is safer to use pliers to dislodge the fishing hook from the haruan mouth. Double hooks are much more dangerous if you use your bare hand.
Learn to catch the first Haruan all by yourself, before you go for the second one.
Haruans are there, only whether you are prepared to go for them.
Casting along the weedy banks produce more haruan than the open water. Areas around the water inlet and outlet are prime site too.
Haruans are choosy also sometime, having varieties of baits increase your chance of catching them.
When all else fail, just snap up the humble(poor?) frog.

However strong is the hook, it still depend on how you tie them.
Learn to tie good knots before you go fishing.
Haruan anglers talk more on the one that get away and that one is always bigger than yours.
When haruan not taking your bait, ask them why and you answer for them. The more you ask the more haruan you will get.
Haruan tackle set, some like it light some like it heavy. Don’t worry about others just stick to yours, the saying is as long as the cat can catch mouse it is a good cat.
Sad to see our favorite haruan fishing grounds losing to development one by one.
Worst, are those with illegal fencing and claiming that the fishing ground are theirs.
