UL spinning rod...tlg rekemen sat?

Salam

nak custom lagi laa lece…TQ

Sebab musabab nak kena beli rod baru…

there is always the Surecatch Excellency stick and the Lemax version. Both are 9feet rods using a fly-rod blank as a base. Both also cost about RM120 each.

bro,
it’s lb, not ib… singkatan perkataan dari ‘libra’ [:D]

my recommendation for your budget of below rm200

  1. fenwick eagle GT 4-10lb (less than rm150)
  2. lemax storm legend(less than 200), president(less than 150), pro-tiny 4-10lb models (less than 100). i have used these lemax rods, the guides are lousy, but the rods are great. sufficient for UL in my opinion.
  3. fenwick HMX 6’ 4-10lb. if you search hard enough, it will be less than rm200. if you can get hold of one, then this should be the best below rm200.

Great recommendation there by ft bro, second em,

for lemax protiny with ‘pro’-lousy guide… since rm100 or less, if caught any big n strong running fish more or less will fail. just get some fuji hardloy or alconite guides(no need SIC bull for ultralight rod), rm5± each only n with spinning no more than 8 guides needed, tat makes it rm40, + workmanship should get u fully fuji n a pretty decent blank at rm60±. So it will still be within ur budget.

fenwick eagle gt a lil on the soft side(not at all as soft as cherrywood tho). Fenwick would have a rather fast tip(meaning stiff tip). Lemax would be somewhere in between. Hope these helps, cheers… btw wat i said is base on same poundage to same poundage basis(ie 4lb tip to another rod 4lb tip)

my recommendation…

majorcraft crostage, slicer, basspara, solpara

good value rods. no need to upgrade fancy fancy stuff in the future.

also i like to stress that UL rods has a high mortality rate because of mishandling. so spending too much is not recommended for rods. reels yes

kill the friggin’ netters

I think Basspara should be right around RM200, plus minus. But not sure if Basspara got the UL poundage range for spinning.

For a more affordable option - have a close look at the DAM Super Basser SP, and the DAIWA Regal ( White / Black ). They both come in at about RM150 depending on length.

Have been using them both for the past 2 months in pay ponds and would gladly recommend them to anybody.

Yes, my favorites are still my St. Croix - but they cost many times more, and the above 2 are beginning to get them really jealous.[:D]

Bro pegi siow chang jln pantai, cuba selongkar rod promotion depa yg rm80, mungkin akan jumpa rod penn 4-8lb, panjang 6kaki…

bro, sent you an email [:D]

thnks TJS [:D]

knht, the Basspara also highly recommended, problem is its hard to stumble upon a price of below rm200

shafiq,
6-12 for me not really UL enuff, but that’s a personal thing lah. i find that it’s neither here nor there; not light enough to toss micro lures, and not heavy enough to play crankbaits. i’d prefer rods with wider gap between the lower and higher poundage, say 2-8 or 4-10.

the Lemax Pro Tiny has really lousy guides, and the whole thing emits an off-putting image as a whole, but seriously, i love the blank. so i bought one, stripped it and redone a one-piece 3-8lb, 5’3" stick from scratch with materials of my choice and i can reassure you that the blank is a light and strong as you can get. last month, i tested the rod out at sea and worked it to the max by hitting 20+ fishes ranging from 500g to 1.5kgs… the rod has a nice bend under pressure [:D] one of my favorite rods to use. wait for TCE’s sale before you get one [:D]

TCE is having sales now.

Btw, i dun think you can find anymore storm legend, was told it’s discontinued and all tce outlets ran out liao…maybe can still find it in other tackle shops…care to share if u find one?

storm legend plenty in most tce tackles. i saw quite a number at the shah alam outlet very recently.
but not interested to get the new ones.

storm legend old model no more.
if can find an old model in new condition , i’m willing to pay a lot.
but it’s impossible to find.
it’s arguably the best rod lemax has ever produced.

not really impossible la, maybe nearly but definitely not impossible, worst come to worst a lot of secondhand available once owner wanna buy new stuff

best every produced? probably so but i still think the old President series are the best, personally… however if i’m not wrong they’re of the same blank… just colour differ, problem is i hate the colour of storm legend hahahhahah

ya, was referring to the old model, as bro TJS recommend me to get the old model. All they have now is the new arrival.

by the way, TCE having 30% duscount for st croix Triump rod, on top of the 5% member discount. Saw some 4-10 lbs range there, 6’6" length, spinning. Nett price should be around RM150. Sadly, Premier range no discount.

if can read mandarin, there is one MC Basspara 4-8lbs spinning for sales. Brand new unused, RM180 is a good price.

I am not the seller, just saw this so thought of sharing
