What reels do you have/feel are under-rated? Recently I went to my friend’s tackle shop and found a little Banax spinning reel, not very easy to find… played with it and has a very good strong drag, alu frame, worm gear oscillation and so on… for the price of an economy model of Shimano or Daiwa… My friend has fifteen units of it for 1.5 years before the first unit is sold… to a sort of ‘reel engineer’ kind of guy…
Another example Tica also produce very good reels but doesn’t seem to have a very good reputation… Wonder why… is it due to the inconsistent production quality? country of origin?
