value for money vs high performance braid

dear anglers…could you please advise me further on braid standards…
here are my questions.
1)type of braids
2)price range
3)brands to look for

‘‘cheap doesnt mean its poor quality and expensive doesnt mean it can last forever’’

being an angler on tight budget..how can i get the best value for money..i m looking for something cheap and could last..[:p].

powerpro???

tuffline is one good value for money line and reliable

for bigger poundage maybe spiderwire would help… cheaper than powerpro however thinner poundage not so convincing for me

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

one of me mates is using 20lb sufix and it’s thinner than my spiderwire 20lb braid.

at first sight i thought it was 8lb braid … ! [:I]

Interesting.. I will try sufix the next time i get 1.

sufix = expensive

but u still can get some really good deals for their old stock, if u can find em in tce sales… they no longer stock them and clearing suffix stock so keep a lookout guys and good luck

till now never did try suffix performance yet altho wanna try but the price always keep me at bay… in USA next year performance braid will be cheaper hopefully by then they will be cheaper on our shore as well, well just my wishful thinking la… couldnt really ask for more since fat rap here is much more exp than those in the US.

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

i got sufix ultra knot mono 6lb at 75%off the last time i went there..2400yards..anyone wana re-spool their reels..let me know…back to the topic…sufix braid on sale…intresting…i will check them..

i’ve tried spider, sufix performance fuse, berkley fireline crystal n stren sonic braid. n the only braid i use now is stren.

WB,

please share with us your opinion/preference for Stren, eg breaking strain, fraying, abrasion resistant, quiet, tangles, value for money, etc

btw, are you using BCs or spinners?

thanks

u know how expensive is stren???

btw for tuffline get the ori one, DONT EVER GET “DURATUFF” Tuffline!!! as the name suggest, it is the least durable of all braided tat i’ve ever tried… i only havent tried too cheap to be true braid, overprice jap stuff, new sufix braid and fins braid fyi.

wild boar showed me his stren braid last weekend… very thin diameter so can put more into the spool… for performance u have to wait for him to reply… sorry bro for butting in;)

i’m using bc n spinning reels

just my noob opinion on stren sonic braid

  • their 30lbs is thinner than power pro’s & spider’s 20lbs
  • its just so hard to break the 30lbs line. even by thumbing my spool lock when my lure got stuck, it is so hard to break the main line. it starts to fray only after a month of usage n i fish 2-3-4 days a week n at least 2 days of casting either for toman or pb. n i’ve not lost a single fish becoz of my mainline breaking. its always the split rings, the hooks or the swivel that gave way 1st.
-sorry la, i donno whether its noisy or quiet.
  • never got into a messy tangle b4 so no comment.
-i bought the 30lbs 300 yards pack for rm108, 8lbs 125yards for rm58. both from kepong tackle. so if u want more value for ur money better buy the 300 yards packing la.

i always fish for toman in snaggy area so i got the 30lbs but i think the 20lbs will be able to do the job well too. the next braid that i’m buying will be a 20lbs stren sonic braid with glidecoat technology.[:D]

peace…

10-25lb rods…

buy a 15lb stren or sufix…connected to about 2m 60lb sufix invisiline or seaguar..
buy a 20lb stren or sufix…connected to about 120cm of 80lb cable sevenstrand

let the rod do its job and this braid will last to an extent…always buy in a bulk spool at
least 300m…

put a mono of the same poundage about 1/4 (usually tape down with masking tape)
connect them with the reverse uni knot…spool braid on…can really safe your used
length of braids…

adios…

wow…hmmm..intresting…cost?..what the best ever deal out there?
