Welcome to the “use your hands” & “otak” section of MFN. In the spirit of MFN pun boleh, Vincent has created this section for us to explore the making of our own tackles and any other fishing related stuff.
As we all know, most fishing stuff are designed & created overseas and are not specific to what we have locally so lets crank our brains and lets have stuff that is created by locals for the local fishes.
If you are making something that you use for fishing post it here. Be it lures, tying flies, how to mend/make a fishing net,… etc etc. If u have an idea about designing a fishing lure, fishing contraptions, you’re welcome to post a discussion here too. Of course we welcome tips on materials, how to paint a lure, tying a bucktail for ur treble… well what can I say the scope is just so hugh to explore. Some of you may have heard of the longkang lure… perhaps with this section, how it is made will be revealed finally.
As moderator for this section let me welcome all of MFN kaki to make this section THE creative fishing centre. And let me also take the oppurtunity here to apologise to some MFN members who wanted to ask me about lure making during U4 but I was unable to comply due to the “hectic” U4 conditions. So post on and I’ll try to answer as best as I can here and no doubt other MFN members will have their experience to chime in as well.
To keep this section informative & as a searchable resource for the DIYer in fishing, please keep threads to its relavant topic & refrain from posting “hello bang” messages which is more appropriate as a PM (“Hello bang” messages will be deleted without mercy). Informative threads and member tutorials will be compiled in a sticky message titled: “Resorces”.

Hello all i too am a luremaker from the US but as tally will tell you he and the others Envy me
I make wire baits(jigs spinerbaits buzzbaits and a few other designs) and plastics. I have quite a few years experience with plastic baits as i worked for a large company based here in California called Omega Tackle. Scot owns SRPlastics, Tightline Fishing and the Arizona based Anglers Choice, all of which im sure none of you have heard of.
Anyways i hope to be of some help. I will be trying to get LP into plastic pouring as soon as we can figure out how to ship the stuff.
