Have you caught anything with it?

I have tried making one my self, it swims well, cast well, but no takers yet. The design of my lure is no match with the one like yours!

i’ve seen the top one, the bottom one is top secret stuff izzit? hehe… or izzit a new revision? …

been hunting for momma toman last sat. wif polini… at the cove there, polini’s micro lure been hit by biggie but didn’t connect well… treble too small hehe later on my el cheapo shad was followed by a pissed off momma toman protecting her fries, but da minute she saw me head on, she made a mighty quick u-turn… dang hehe… nvr mind i’ll get her another day…

hav u made any micros to date? i really loves 'em u know…

Kerabat,
Wood - i use Jelutong wood (those woood we use to do carving at school), can get from art supply store and some staionary store
Painting - I use rattle can spray paint, a lot of advise n tips from “guru” n lots & lots of trial n error with still a lot of mistake up till now ;(
Thru Wire - saw a groove in the belly of the lure n insert the thru wire in n epoxt it.
those wire leader favourably use by east coast nelayan
Lip - thinner lip are cut from acrylic sheet n polycarbonte for thicker lip

Err, It’s hard to get thinner polycarbonate sheets in M’sia. But stick to polycarbonate for all lips, acrylic is bad news, too brittle to be any good. Other alternatives include, Stainless Steel or brass sheets.

FT… Very very nice lure. Hope i can learn how to do one of these! Never tried making a lure of my own yet. Tried to make a popper but left the project half way! ha ha..

en wahoo…

if i’m not mistaken, the black plastic used for number plates are acryllic. they chip off on impact. by far polycarbonate is the best.

Here’s a simple test for acrylic & polycarbonate. Cut a thin strip, bend it, if patah acrylic, if not polycarbonate. SO from this it also illustrate why we do not use acrylic to make lips.
