what watches do you prefer to wear when you fish?

hi friends ,just out of curiosity what watch do you think will help you get more fish or aid you in different fishing situations?i prefer to use a suunto with atmospheric pressure indicator and log book.some like to use a tide or moonphase watch. cheers.

Prefer not to wear any and fish you heart out. What’s good about moonohrase, when you know the good day after checking it on the day you going fish.
Prefer to forget the time and fish until you almost can see day light.
Casio had it upteen years ago.

SUUNTO Vector: it’s very light and the casting hand almost dont feel anything.

dont wear any watch, not because i dont want to know the time, but more to keep things less messy, lines especially thin lines do tend to get tangled in the braclet and can be quiet a nuisance while leather tends to get quiet stiff and some times itchy once it dries
also those shiny braclets can be very attractive to barracudas not that i have been attacked but i have read several articles about the shine of stainless steel braclets which do tend to attract barracudas if i am not mistaken the reason why professional divers rarely use steel bracelets as barracudas can be more dangerous than sharks.the attacks are mostly not fatal but still dont want to take risk especially after getting 7 stitches on my wrist from a king.
well thats fishing for you
cheers

Master (the non FFF type) and Riki,

I wear Suunto imitation, Buutoh. Seriously, I prefer not to wear watch most of the time because I can tell time from my mobile phone. Besides wearing watch will leave a watch line (like bikini line like that ) on your wrist. Looks funny if you got yourself very tanned. For fly fishing you may get the line tangled to your watch especially on your hauling hand. If I go to places where no mobile phone signal is available, I use the sun as a guide. Sounds more natural, like orang asli like that. You tell time by saying “dua batang rokok before the sun terbenam.”[:p] Sounds very elegant.

Why? Master Yong have invented a watch with bulus indicator kah?

Cheers.

thanks to all for the feedback.i will try to find a better design for all fishermen.i think that a minute repeater watch will be useful because you can keep it in your pocket and will not catch the flyline. cheers.

I dont know. I just feel sexier when I’m having a watch on my right hand during casting & fighting. Hahahahaha. [:D] [:D] [:D]

Master Yong, there is this ‘watch’ by Humminbird, which could be useful for us anglers. Its called Smartcast RF35. Its actually a watch and a fishfinder [:D]. But how we cast the fishfinder with a flyrod… I dunno lah[:p]

I had one last time. Used a convetional setup to cast it. Pretty useless tho. Tossed it somewhere. [:(] [xx(]

yeah,that wristwatch/fishfind pretty useless,

You gonna make one?

no

why need watch la… just fish till your hearts content… stop fishing only when tired

just use ordinary one. if tide has an influence to your fishing trip, then you can plan your to and fro trip. Smartcast RF35 look interesting and you cast the sensor just like you would cast a line. Might not do good on deep sea or other place. Never had one. Well, Riki_rahman had one before. Heed his advice. The real fishfinder is better

if you wanted to buy a watch that can withstand hard knocks and rough use and scratching and also submersion in water what brand would you choose? i think sinn u2 is a good watch with the right features.it has tegiment( super hard) coating, copper sulphate moisture absorber and shock proof.diapal model is also good but costs more.

buy some good swiss watches ,mechanical type.

i think we can start a malaysian watch forum and watch collectors group as there are many connoisuers around .any suggestions master riki? swiss watches will go up by 12% next year ,or more.

Riki_Rahman you are rite. I had one too, the Smartcast RF35, very bulky, feels rather unbalance when it is on your wrist. If i am not mistaken it suppose to have a 30ft radius, but i can’t even recieve the signal even thou the transmiter is just 10ft from me![xx(] Have toss it long ago.
BTW, the SUUNTO Vector watch looks useful, where can get that watch? How much does it cost? Thanks…

Cheers
