Where to buy small Kelah fish?

anyone know where I can buy breeded baby red kelah to rear? I wouldn’t mind buying empurau as well.. Preferably the fish should come from a farm or something.. I do not encourage the catching of wild endangered species..

What size and what is the number that you want?

If it is large quantity, by several hundreds, I can import it for you.

I have to catch out all those small black fish in my pond before i put the kelah in.. I have no idea how to catch those small fish out of my pond.. they're about 4-6inches each, but my pond is quite deep, even with 3 people in the pond I still can't get those fish out.. any ideas?

wp1 bro,

small black fish… sounds cute… however y wanna remove them a threat ah??? mind to tell wat fish is it bro…

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

wp1,

It’s gonna be a challenge for you to rid your pond those small fishes. Draining the pond may be the quickest and most effective method.

Are there lots of them in there and are they predatory?

Can you catch some of those small black fish, take some pictures and post it here, so that we can identify them whether they are baby
predators or not. The fastest and safest to get rid of them is to drain your pond.

if rare and pretty natives i would wanna have a few to place in my pond bro!!!

n if predator no worries… just open ur pond to mfners, sure finish one got fly la, spin fly, mini lures, tiny sp etc to tackle small fish nowadays hehehe

if those small fish r not fast-growing, predatory fish, then it shouldn’t be a problem leaving them there.
but if really wanna get them out, draining the pond would be the best solution. otherwise, might miss some using nets.

btw, u still interested to buy the two 1kg+ empuraus, n palm size kelah merahs from my friend’s shop? if u still interested, i can show u which shop.

the pond is not that big… maybe like 10m by 10m.. water is super clear so i can see the bottom.. the thing is the pond is quite deep.. about 1.5m depth.. The fish are not predator, but they are ugly.. i’m thinking of a way to get rid of them.. draining the pond is not an option, there are a lot of other more expensive fish inside… i tried fishing them up but apparently the coi fish come for the hook as well which is a pain.. any other suggestions?? btw, they are not predatory fish, they are just ugly..

I don't think I would wanna get the empurau as they look the same as kelah merah.. I'm interested in the kelah merah though.. would certainly like to go check it out.. however, i need to rid my pond of those fish to begin with... hahaha :)

i intro lah.. its those stupid black carp i use to feed my arowana.. just that now that my arowana has died, they're not longer anybody's food.. thus they grew big and ugly...

it takes a lot of patience doing so.. I’ve tried it with my dad’s pond to remove the baung from the tilapia..it takes up a lot of time and patience with lots of slow movement to catch those tilapia…lucky didn’t get stung by those baungs. [xx(]

Hhahaha… i tot black carp is quite pretty bro, if the carp u mean is hark wan, the darker brother of the common grasscarp… summore quite rare lehh… n u feed them to arowanas? hahahaha

Dun think it’s easy catching all of them out of the pond, even if u drain it… seriously they just can hide anyway.. introduction of toman is no-no as well cos got other fish around… so if they din trouble u just the ugly look then so be it la i guess lol, there’s nothing much u can do anyway…

Slowly catch la, when big edi go to the pot lor bro

dunno whether its a black carp or wat.. those fish u buy in the fish shop to feed toman and arowanas.. one day when I catch another 1 i’ll post a picture.. i’ve fished out most of them.. left about 8.. the fewer they get, the harder it get to catch them..

can one sure can one… must have faith… hahahhaha

Jokes aside… feed them time n catch them during frenzy… use long pole and present ur bait as natural as ur feeding pattern… however tat means other fish will inevitably get hooked as well but nvm la practice CnR for the rest only lor…

Tat’s wat i do in my farm when all the fish are highly educated… however the pond there quite big so i use a long UL rod with ultra fine line to cast tat lil piece of pellet out, so it look as natural as can b… needless to say i hook them up one after another until they go uni again for new syllabus
