I think they have replace this model with this..

Just a quick comment on these Shimano fly reels. The Ultegra Fly was the model Shimano used to enter the fly reel market. It enjoyed a good following for a number of years, tho’ it was’nt a large arbor and is similar to the G.loomis model (after the takeover of G.Loomis?).
I have used the whole range from the 3/4 to the 9/10 and have found them relaible. They are good value for the $$$, tho’ I must warn against heavy saltwater usage as they need to be properly washed and mantained after every trip. Frankly, I would use them only for freshwater fly fishing.
The new model is the large arbor Shimano Biocraft XT and has had a good review in “Trout and Salmon”. As its a Shimano, I’m sure it’ll be a relaible flyreel…would’nt mind getting a 3/4 for light freshwater use.[:)].
Alamak, i didn’t even know that laa Tony, that would mean that the Shimano Flyreel is the First Shimano Flyreels in Shimano Reels Making History, how silly am i to offer that reel at Rm88.00(Start bid), you can’t even get a Cap Ayam Flyreel with that amount…[:D]

Teru, i oni have the Shimano Ulterga 3/4 and 7/8 sahaja, in my antic reel cabinet which i’ve locked, if you can ‘racun’ more ppl into flyfishing, i might consider putting one on bidtackle after my fishing trip at Pulau Sibu…[:D][:D][:D]
