If time can turn back, the good old Batu Kawan swamp would be my playground. Landed a few Haruans “size of bus” ahemm…. It was Year 2012.. my trusted Ryobi Legend Spin rod and Ryobi Applause help landed these creatures…

There was a place in Tanjung Bungah, behind the Boon Siew Flats called Batu Gajah. Most kids of the 70s/80s from there would know what it looks like. Its still there today but the river is now a longkang.
Used to catch Belaga Bodoh there a lot. As well as keli, haruan and tengas daun etc. Swimming there was amazing too.
Only after they longkangized it did I realize what we lost. Was still a kid when it happened.
