Yes Sir,

Pak Ngah told us his pond got the norms…patin, rohu, pacu, keli, tongsan…largest fish ever caught was only 6.3kg tongsan…fish can bring home…they are open now from 10am until evening during the puasa month…during normal days,it’s 24 hours…easy to go,when u reach Kulim town, look for the post office, when u see post office on ur left, turn left in front,go straight about <100m,before reach school, take a left turn into a lorong and go straight into small kampung…you will pass thru a longkang(slightly uphill road)…then go straight until u see a Y inter section…the road to the pond is kinda rocky and uphill(only meant for 1 vehicle),you will see an indian temple on ur far right uphill…haven’t got chance to fish there yet, just patrolling…hehehe… but the owner(Pak Ngah) is really friendly…[:D]

By the way,Mr. Doraemon…
Do you happen to know anything about Mitchell Spidershaft rod? Thanks

The pond is known as Kolam Pakngah…somewhere behind the old hospital ground n old govt quarter…take the gravel road after the Hindu temple.

Not so many fisho release there…but still good if u wanna to entertain ur itchy hands.
Better try Kulim Bandaran Municipal mining pond. MBK release lot of fisho with numerous kinds during a public fishing grand prix…yet report only few catch on that day.

Lot of anglers go home with no catches…so last month is right time till now since there monsoon season has end up there , maybe good promise for good catches. Have a try!!!

payponds in kulim

  1. kolam pakngah. location as mentioned above. current person incharge - abg din. i’ll give 1.5 star rating. many big fishes (witnessed 8kg patin brought up and that guy claimed rm450 jackpot) but very hard to fish because too many, i mean too many tilapias ( little ones). just a few second our hong drop into the water, we could already feel nyut nyut nyut at the line and the bait will already finish before the big one founds it.

  2. kolam memancing dinamik. location : kampung batu putih, mukim padang cina, kulim. ±15km from kulim town. how to get there : by using kulim-mahang road, just ±3-4km from kulim hi-tec area turn left at the juction with the signboard ‘labu besar & batu puteh’. u will reach a kampung area (kampung batu putih) with mini petrol pump on your right and primary school on your left (S.K Pagar Museh). right after the kampung you will cross a river with a ‘tandop’. u will see the signboard of the paypond (on your left) just after u cross the river.
    rating : 3.5 - 4 star
rate : very cheap RM5 per hour (excluding jackpot) and no minimum hours of fishing.
fish : keli (a lot of them) range between 1kg to 12kg. only witnessed 7kg speciment.
: jelawat, still junior in size. also many. if cought and live, very nice to put in an aquarium.
: patin, if cought comfirm will be huge one.
    : rohu, very rare.
fish above 3 kg must (wajib) sell back to taokey rm2 per kg. below 3 kg can bring back home as much as u want. if dont want also can sell back to taokey with the same rate.
bait : anything and i mean anything that suits you. (hong, bread, liver, intestine, beef/chicken burger, worm, pallet, bla bla bla)

  3. Sungai Kob pay pond (2 ponds in the same road or minitar). how to get there : same as above but DO NOT turn left at ‘labu besar’. just go straight until Sungai Kob town. Then u must turn right into the minitar just after the Klinik Kesihatan Sg Kob (on your right). go along the minitar and u will reach the 1st pond (malay owner, have not fish there yet he he). move along the minitar until u’ll meet ‘Y’ junction. take the left one. and the minitar will end at the 2nd pond (natural pond). Chinese owner. can be said as the heaven of lampams. jelawat and grass carp are common here. baung and patin also got. the problem here too expensive. same as siakap pond. rm10 for 1 hour but can get rm25 if fish 3 hours direct.
bait : anything (chicken intestines - lampams favourite)

p/s : if u take right at the ‘Y’ junction u,ll reach at restoran kolam ikan (chinese restaurant) with a couple of fish pond around the restaurant. not for fishing la. the fish will be cought and cooked for the customer.

heard there is another paypond at kampung gunung bongsu, mukim terap, kulim but never been there yet. let me riki first and i’ll report back soon.

also have been to a paypond (keli) at a kampung (kampung jangkang maybe not remember lah) area pusat serenti, karangan. let me riki also lah that pond. dont know still open or not
