Dear Friends,
As most of you would have heard that the Malaysian Fishing Net aka MFN will be closing by mid February 2012. Most of us fishos had a great time there for the past 12 years. For those who were there from the beginning saw the introduction of Malaysia’s first Catch and Release pond at Tow Foo, the lengthy and often fiery debate on the introduction of the Peacock Bass in Malaysia, the inaugural U series , etc, etc, etc.
To most, MFN remained a wealth of information on the various fishing disciplines, a place to meet fellow anglers and place to hang out and call “home”. MFN was the place where we got to rub shoulders with the likes of Aznir Malik, UBob, Mejor Ismail, Chris Tan, etc and last but not least our very own Elvis Malaysia; Mr D!
It made the angling world smaller as we arranged trips to destinations that would have otherwise been impossible to make on our own. It brought about camaraderie and solidarity where race and ethnicity is a foreign word. We shared the sorrow and happiness of fellow forumers be it in a birth, death or anniversaries but most importantly we shared it as brothers and sisters.
This MFN Farewell Party is not for sorrow and heartache but to celebrate the 12 glorious years that we shared together!
It has been decided that it would be a BBQ/Steamboat buffet dinner. Details as below:
