By introduction, I am a very amateur fishing enthusiast. I’ve dne a bit of fishing at the sea off Mersing and in the sea off Klang.
But I have not fished for almost two years because of pressure of work.
But I want to introduce fishing to my sons. I don’t want to go to a pay pond. I am planning to fish from the shore somewhere near KL. Maybe Klang area or around there.
Can anyone recommend any good fishing spots with directions too if possible? Also, where to buy bait around there.

you can fish at Espanade Port Klang near Juara Ikang bakar. Bait you can buy at the Orang Asli settlement road going to Sea lion Fish pond. Good luck bro.

You also can go the Pak Long’s Jetty. The first jetty (at your right).
Ok la. not very hassle.
If you fish at the jetty you baling kuat.
Umpan tak hancur nyer. Because kat situ org tak pakai umpan dedak.
People usually use umpun2, belanak, squid, hirisan ikang and prawn (life or dead)
Ikang besor jarang2 la org dapat kat situ. setakat pari 2 kilo, semilang, gelama tu adalah.
Try dulu baru tau.
any luck at shore fishing in port klang with your kids? I’ve been planning like ages to take my eldest (11 years) but all my rigs are for rivers n lakes. I ahve tried using these at sea albeit hopping from one moored trawler to another. Bloody dangerous esp when most tekongs usually leave thier rudders loose and swing according to the waves n currentss. largest fish was an ikan duri about 1kg in weight. That was when I was in form 5 (nearly 30 years ago) at Kuala Kedah fishing village near my home town, Alor Setar. bait was octopus, cut fresh from the trawler’s uncleaned nets.

Somebody posted fishing in Sepang beach the other day. My friend had been there and managed to catch 1-2kg size senangin, Pari and Ikan Sebelah(flounder?). I also want to go but not sure the way though.
