6’5" PE 5-8, All guides are Fuji Titanium SiC.
The rod is designed for fishing Snakehead in South East Asia by the famous Japanese Raigyo angler Kozo Okubo.

5’9" PE 5-8, Bottom guide are stainless steel K-guide, the rest are titanium K-guide.
The rod is designed for fishing in the Amazon river system.
Both rod seems to be fit my need for a giant snakehead rod, I still thinking which to choose. The Tulala Aventura is shorter but using the latest K-guide, but for a rod that cost 1.5k, just using stainless steel frame for guide seems overpriced. However, the distributor in Singapore claimed the rod used titanium frame, but the official website state otherwise. The KOZ is exactly designed for fishing giant snakehead, but is already a rod designed quite some years ago, which some features might be outdated. KOZ is priced at 1.7k.
So, anyone have try or feel both rods? Which will you guys prefer?

u can take a look at Zenith, there’s one unit in red-hot 6’3" green colour, soft tip n finely balanced.
as for the KOZ magnum husky, purpose built… to wage a war against all swamp lunkers. weights abiit heavy but its all good for Raigyo.
ULALA i have not comment as it is super niche. 5’9" wont get u anywhere…
AMAZON BALISTA by Temujin is also a very nice luring rod with a soft tip. superb power low down and forgiving tip. casts very very well with practically any lures
Majorcraft Days/Beneyro/Majorstik/Corkish etc as long as 14-30lb beat dog sticks are the cheapest amongst the sticks above.
bear in mind u have to factor in the soft plastic weight/spinnerbait/swimbait… preference is soft tip so u can launch the lure far enough with 50-65lb braided line. Also weight of the rod and how often are u going to use the rod as this is not your primary tool. i presume a 10-20lb is widely used. why park a RM 3000 set mostly in the cupboards or sidelines. THerefore myself also bought a used Beneyro 14-30 7" and kept it in the armory for a year already. recalled used it once and the damn line broke on a biggie toman. my rod casts 10gm dentos to 28gm swimbaits perfectly. matched it with a ryoga 2020 /50lbs combo

I think you made a mistake that both are raigyo rod. KOZ LH65 is designed purposely by kozo okubo for Toman in Malaysia. He had personally come to Malaysia for fishing Toman with his Raigyo rod. After his return to Japan, he designed this rod and bring it to Malaysia for testing. Tulala is not an raigyo rod as well, is designed for amazon boat fishing. I also checked with AOF, the aventura bottom guide is stainless steel but rest are titanium frame.
As I’m doing mostly boat fishing, I prefer a short rod, below 7’. I also think some of the 15-30lbs rod are not build for abuse, they are more suitable for fishing bass.
Anyway, thanks for your input. I certainly will like to check out the Zenith rod.
Wow! PE5-8 for malaysia toman? Your fishing spot must have alot of snags?
I guess its understandable for raigyo style of toman fishing (lily pads and such), but for sight casting toman in our malaysian dams its very overkill. i fish with 8-16lbs all the time for toman regardless of size, coz i love the thrill factor. I lose some and i win some. Control and proper way to maneuver a hooked fish is worth more than any amount of brute force.
If your quarry is toman hiding in lily pads and such, rod length is a very important factor. Mainly for leverage and to maneuver the fish.

I’m understand your reason about skill on maneuver the fish is important, but i think certain time with a 8-17 or even 12-25 lbs rod you will still have difficulty especially when the fish bite near to snag.
Its what happen to my friends all the time, he is using 15-30 lbs rod, but in certain situation, he just prefer not to cast, because he know the chance the fish run into the snag is so high, that he might not even stand a chance to stop it in the initial run.
Well to each of your own, i put priority on castability and presentation on gear setup 1st then try to push my gear limits. I can put in more accurate cast, less bulky thus quicker reaction, less fatigue = more presentation to the target fish = higher hook up rate. In fishing its not always who has the bigger gun wins, unless you fish in heavy cover la. Thats what that rod is made for.

2 on Ryoga2020, 2 on medium tackle.
got outsmarted big time by the tomans. managed to get my personal best of 5.7kg last year. locked on to 2 over 8kgs but lost both in a day. 14-30 not invincible ok!

big guns for big jobs. most of the time i cast swimbaits whenever i do spot fishing. blind casting sometimes whenever the area looks dangerous. i put in like max 100-150 casts with my big rod a day for dam fishing. i m not so crazy to cast non-stop unless its a specific black water day.
cast until my arms drop off on the first days is no good for a 4days trip. pandai pandai lah…

z2020 is good solid reel based on what I read (never cast one before). I thought you want to pair your T3 with a Pe5-8 rod, that is probably not a balance set up and some parts in the T3 might give way if under that kind of stress.

Thanks, but most peoples paired it with Shimano Conquest 400, that reel seems come with stronger drag, but also much heavy.
