I do remember reading about someone’s trip to Tanjung Sepat in MFN before but I just cannot find the post…anyone can help? Basically, I’m planning to bring my family of 4 there for a fishing holiday…and feasting too since I’ve read good food reports on Tanjung Sepat too..

Places of interest there should be the Ganofarm. It’s free entrance & visitors get to taste Gano drink of different flavors.
Food wise, at Tg Sepat, must try the Seafood Bak Kut Teh & pork stomach soup.

You can try fishing for Gelama during high tide at the Ganofarm jetty.

How about accomodations? I read about a Golden Palm Hotel that charges something like Rm 600 per night (if not more)..

Golden Palm Resort. Very nice looking new resort. I was there for a day visit by invitation. All the chalets are built on a platform out on the water. If you do intend to fish, try booking those chalets furthest away from the beach but personally, I won’t have much high hopes. Water is dirty & very murky.
I think right now they are doing promotion, book one chalet, FREE another. Me & family was actually planning to go there this weekend.

Forget fishing from the Palm Resort, almost no fish and you pay a bomb for the room to be on mud for most of the time.
Try walking down towards the fish for sale stalls, move past the ikan bakar shop, go up on the concrete bridge, fish from there during high tide, it is free there but avoid after rain as the water is turbid.
