No more poison needed. A Viper is crawling, as we speak, from JB to KL. No more poison, cos the price, I mean fangs, have been slashed to maintain good uncle-nephew relations.
I thot I saw a Series One in Kepong a few weeks ago. It’s fully assmbled and standing on the racks. Go quick vefore it becomes a two piece rod!!!

Seriously, I think even a Caldia Kix will do. I have been using mine for jungle trips for a few years now. Brilliantly light but powderful!

Hahaha, I think Stella is more worthy for the Viper, or the new Daiwa Freams 2500 is even lighter.

On the subject of the GT Bio spoon: I convinced Fishing Fever to order a stack of them. They brought in various colours: green, red, copper-orange, silver, gold.
They’re not cheap, but me thinks they are well-worth the money. I took a dozen oredi![:p]
The one I was talking about is the copper-orange model, but I think the other colours like red, gold and silver will probably do well too. during my trip, the colour flakes off (lots of abuse on rocks), but it didn;t effect its fish-catching ability.
Just change the single hook to one of those Owner Single Lure hooks. Great stuff.[:)]

CONGRATULATIONS for being the first owner user of the Nitro Viper in Malaysia. You won’t regret this purchase. Power, Flexibility, Portability - what else can an angler want?
As for the Certate 3500HD it is already an old model I am sure there are newer and better ones in the market. My point is when you couple the 8kg Viper to a powerful 3000 to 3500 reel there are very few places that you can’t go. No need to carry a lot of rods and reels hehehe.
So please show us some photos of your first catch and othe major scores with your new and very poisonous Viper. After that Malaysia may be infected with aussie Vipers. hahaha[:D][:D][:D]
BTW did you get the undertaker too? If not go ahead before it is sold. It is shorter and good for the boat and where there are overhangs in the jungle above the head. Ooooooooh more poison. So who’s fangs got slashed?[:)]

When I got home, it was waiting on the dining table, coaxing me to unshed its skin. But gotta play cool: SWMBO (the home minister) is watching.[;)] After tea, slowly got into my fishing room, closed the door, and then tore the b&%$dy wrapping…[}:)]
Got the mega Toblerone wrapping out of the way, then let the viper loose..[8)]
Wahh, elegant feller, this viper. [:p] After hefting, flipping bending the thing a few thousand times, I took out the Magnum butt and assembled it, to compare.
Interesting, hmm.[8)]
The Viper has a stiffer tip, for sure, and is 6 inches shorter. I guess it’s the ticket for lure casting, especially the bigger lures.
What’s really interesting is, though it’s rated at 8 kg, the butt seems slimmer and a tad softer than the Magnum Butt (rated at 6 kg). Which reminds me of my chat with Mingmon, years ago, that the Magnum is underrated.

But the Viper certainly is better built. The joints are perfectly meshed. For my Magnum, the butt joint is not perfectly matched: the male section is a tad large. Ah well, the owner has the same problem…[8D]

First of all congratulations for have that big male member problem. Not really a problem but a blessing (you should know by now). hehehe
I didn’t do a detailed comparison like you did. I had the impression that they used the same blank - cut 6 inches of the top and rejigged the sections.
I do like the shorter length though. Hope you catch something big on it quickly and share your experience with us. So far I have only caught bait fish and squid on it. I have cught some big fish on the 2 piece Viper years ago.
