doc syed,r u going to visit bungsamaran again.Would love to join you on that trip.all i need to know is the budget that i should allocate..dying to go to bungsamaran but i don’t have any proper kaki..please advice..

For BSR, the budget depends on many things.
Whether you’re going to fish at the standard “bridge” or at the Chalets
I fish at the furthest chalet which gave me the Kaho (Siamese Carp) catch
Then there is the guide and transport etc
Overall I would say for ground preparations and transport it is best you bring at least RM700-800 per person
And then there is the fishing shop in the BSR pond ha ha … I blew at least 3k here on my last trip
I use BKK Guy John’s service, I consider him the best you can get there
Doc,having sleepless nights now.I’m planing for April..can’t wait ![]()
1day BSR and second day luring in pilot 111.

I suggest you go luring first THEN Bungsamran, if it is BSR first, the next day you will be to sore to do any lure casting he he

Keep aside 500 just for BSR fishing, air tickets is seperate cost.
For rod and reel just bring one PE6 jigging rod and a matching reel with 50-70lbs line and 90lb leader. You can buy the float set at the pond.
I use BKK Guy John’s service, he picks me up from my hote, brings and sets up my rigs and even bait mix for us. His service is seriously worth the additional money.
True Doc,that what startrec was suggesting..leave it to the ‘‘chief de mission’’. After heavy pounding ,maybe gotta get the bsr guides for a good massage..heard they are dam good at it 2 :)..and yeah, its definitely worth using john,he covers everything including photos and video’s:)[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Now that Doc has drummed up interest (i.e. poison kau-kau) with his BSR adventure, let me add some contribution on the “cost” to fish in BSR.
If you want hassle-free, maximun enjoy, relax-relax…getting the service of a guide is the way to go. Almost everything is done for you (you just have to fight the fish), in return, you just have to pay for their service. Its a fair exchange.
If you want to go the DIY route (i.e. tight on budget), here are some info I found based on published materials on the Internet.
(The below estimation is based on 3d/2n stay and fishing in BSR and Pilot 111)
</font id=“size3”></font id=“maroon”>
Fishing Fees:
BSR :</font id=“size3”></font id=“purple”>
2 rods - B2,000 (can be shared by 4 persons)
Bungalow - B2,000 (No. 29 is the best location)
other bungalows (B1,000) can also produce results
(refer http://anglersociety.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1326984681 to see results)
Guide - B1,000
Bait - B500
Rig - B250
Pilot 111:</font id=“size3”></font id=“brown”>
Per Rod - B500
Chalet - B1,500
(Bring your own lures)
Hotel Accommodation (assume 3d/2n):
Near to BSR: starting from B,1000 (twin sharing) per night
Bangkok City Hotel (downtown BKK) B1,190 promotion until Sept 2012
Taxi:
Based on my calculations, should be within B1,500-2,000 inclusive of:
i. Airport to BSR, BSR to Hotel (approx 30km each way)
ii. Hotel to Pilot 111, Pilot 111 to Airport (approx 65 km each way)
iii. Misc travels, i.e. shopping
Food (individual) - B1,500 (i.e. B500 a day?)
So, based on all this, shared among 4 person should be below RM700 per person not inclusive of flight.
Currently flight by AirAsia is about RM650 for two ways.
Engaging the services of a guide should add about RM200 per person ( shared among 4 persons).
Hope this helps.
