How r u, happily fishing I guess. Its time to change my HSTA ‘smooothie’ drag (the grey color u send me) after some happy trips around, seem like they hate to be in contact with water, need that ‘carbon matrix’ or ‘carbontex’ revo drag, hv any in store?

My advice is to keep the drag free from water, my experience is that any good drag will reduce in performance when it comes in contact with water.

Agree with you, but I fish rain or shine, so a drop or two of water into the drag area will be unavoidable, what more if one lost their balance on the small boat.
My abus all using carbontex n carbon matrix, (the carbon matrix got fm u) lube with thin cal drag grease, seem to be more forgiving when in contact with water compared to the smoothies. Theres a kind of powdery gray substance on the smoothies which i think act as lube for the drag. When its gone the performance sucks. BTW just what i experienced…

You reel is supplied with the specific drag which is good enough, if you sup up the drag, other parts, like shaft and gears may give way.
