They allow lure/spinnerbait casting & live baits too but only with permission from the owner. Check with Mr Nick if he is around. I hang out at the place too every 2 weeks once. They also allow me to use dedak, just explain to them your bait methods.
Their concern is the water quality & what kind of rubbish thrown into the lake.
Lately, mostly Pacus get brought in. The Tilapias have become too smart. Every now & then, someone would bring in Jelawat or Kalui too. If get Toman got prize money too.
Sorry to pop in. This is Nik Rahimi (012-3246959) the owner of EAK, Empangan Sg. Air Kuning at Taman Pertanian Shah Alam. Actually the pond is open for everyone, be it flyfishing, bait casting or bottom fishing. We practice catch and release but recently we allow those who wanted to buy fish to buy tilapia and patin only at RM10/kg. Open daily except monday from 7am to 7pm and for night fishing from 7pm till 10pm however night fishing will be charged seperately from day time and only allowed if prior booking is made and must be in group minimun 7 people.
EAK added a new structure (roofed floating platform) on the RIGHT-side of lake, walk through the dam structure & head right on the jungle trail. Short 5min trekking. Located right at the spot where the Tomans love to play at, could see them swimming about clearly in the morning & evenings. But be cautious when casting there, if your casting angle is too high, your lure may just get whacked! on the roof. I lost 2 lures there already (broken into pieces) bcoz I swing the lure too high. Advise to practice side-casting.
Otherwise, the roof is a welcome relieve from the sun & one can sit there for hours enjoying fishing & nature.

Hi Nik,
I dropped you an email. Sound like your place is good for me to take my family there for weekend picnic outing mixed with a little of fishing and jungle trekking. My toddler kids will be thrilled, LOL.
Do you rent out life vests separately or we have to bring our own for boating?
Hope you do not mind to send me the GPS coordinate to your place, and also if you have family package as my 2-5yo kids do not really know how to fish, so paying per rod basis is a bit heavy. No way i can get three of them to share one rod either, they will probably turn your place into WWF Wrestlemania XXVI.
