closest you’ll find is the Orochi Endmax
next in line will be the Orochi Emilia or Pagani Chaparral
or you could consider that daiwa td-x which is 4-12lb [:p]
ironically, spinners have the closest rating at 4-12lb in the Orochi Aaron Martens and the Destroyer Shabbler
i’m quite taken by the Kirisame ultralight … but the $$$$ … !
[xx(]
luuuurrrrve the Luvito 103 reel tho’
TJS then u must have the Temujin QuadTwister 5-14lbs or Megabass F3 Hedgehog 5-14lbs (the hedgehog has a stinger tip). Both equally good for casting micro/small/medium lures and possess unbelievable backbone and sensitivity.
Next rod to lookout for is the MegaBass F5 Blackout 5-17lbs spinning for sebaraus. only downside of stinger tip is have to be extra careful not to highstick when fish is pulling hard.
Kirisame is the bomb, but overpriced. basically i believe ultralight rod i should not spend too much $$$ coz i feel its easy to break. just my opinion lah
btw, i have one unique rod, i believe it was a prototype or it never made the full production run…
Lucky Craft Area Master rod… 3-piece, poundage i think 2-6lb…4.5feet(i think)…later i go check n see the details…forgot already… too precious to use, so always kept in box. post some pics later [:D]
ini macam also this FT bro come n poison us somemore, as if not enough hahahahha
anyway for me as long the rod especially UL from good lineup ok edi, not necessary crazily overpriced japs rod… but i do like fantasista tho, still cant forget the feeling of handling one before!
but if got my hands on a rocksweeper also ok la, just tat i never seen one casting model my entire life…
Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

All this talk about Tenryu, Evergreen, n Megabass rods...
Poison.
FT, where did u get your UL rocksweeper 2 years back? online? great looking rod. what do u pair it with?
i got the Abu Rocksweeper 7’3", 2-5lb in penang…zanxain tackles. that time it was abt rm 600++ if not mistaken… paired it with Shimano Stradic MgFB 1000 and 4lb braid.
abu makes great rods like the fantasista series (regista, yabai, studious, rocksweeper etc)… i love them. big fan of them too.
TJS,
found a 5-12lb white/ochre rod … but … spinning [:(]
it’s the daiwa crossfire retailing for RM153 … not sure if discount applicable
light and strong
the owner, Mr Ng of Digital Aquarium in Puchong Perdana, said he tested it recently at Tow Foo … the rod that bent the most at Tow Foo [:D]
he also suggested a tenryu, an ardito and a … steez [xx(] [:D] [:p]
beh tahan … he also admitted tenryu pricing is “sticky” (price tag stated RM1000+) [:p]
he opened a package and drew out a steez to show me … smoothly saying it’s RM1400+ [xx(][xx(][xx(] [:D]
the ardito felt light and strong but it’s a 2pc rod
quote:the former (unfortunately only in red) is available at Ocean Sea for RM120 (4-footer) before 30% discount and RM123 (4.5-footer) nett.
have not seen the latter.
don’t recall seeing such at Kepong Tackle.
unsure if such rods are available elsewhere.
looking at their specs, 5 till 8-footers (2- and multi-pc) are supposedly available. why such lengths? to resemble fly-rods? since their claimed target is trout, in addition to panfish and crappie.
wot say users or UL enthusiasts? alternatives?

If you like long whippy rods, there is the Surefishing(?) 8’6" (couldn’t recall the brand correctly) which cost less than rm100. Will throw really light jigs, but a tad too whippy.
There was an article in In-Fisherman, they recommended a ~ 7’ UL rod, with fast action.. Couldn’t remember all the details, but presumably long rods throw further, in addition to better control in case the big fish comes along.
Let me know if you guys could locate a fast UL rod with that length around here..
