Ya they give me a Golden Leg Award to be exact…tho i have free hand and time to manage things but at time it is really very very frust when things don go ur way…specially when production is jam and no sales…well this is life…u win some n u loose some…
Pg bridge fishes are few and apart but always there’s news who caught what fish la this and that but when we go nothing…
Nice catch, did any one use electric reels? Will the setup be the same as Malaccan Straits? Meaning, Shimano 4000 Dendomaru with 50lbs braids accompany with spreader in a 1 kg weight?
Will jig ranging from 400gm to 700 gm works? When you were there, was the current fast?
I would go for 80lbs braid at least, this will allow you to use higher
poundage leaders.
Otherwise, if you get snagged at bottom, your mainline will be the “fuse”,
instead of your leader.
Jig 400gm and above is advisable, the Tekong personally uses a 400gm jig.
Jigging is done when the boat is drifting, when the Tekong is no longer
maintaining position for bottom fishing.
Note that during day time, the boat is constantly moving, will not be
anchoring. Only anchor at night.
Current in the open South China Sea is never too strong, if you compare
to the Malacca Straits which is a funnel. Still, you can never go wrong
with a size 24 or 720 (1kg) sinker.
You don’t have to bring sinker, just use what the boat provides, if you
lose it, you just pay to the tekong.
Ah i see it is organise by 2 tackle shop…Perak organise by Ah Hua (Sea Horse)? Doesn’t have to bring along sinker makes the trip more lighter and can save back on baggage…Does the skipper provide gutting and packing those fish Pete? If so is very convenient…
