After 3 days of fly fishing… We would call this trip a very sucessful trip, although due the the weather condition, location T was canceled las minute, due to flood… But we fish 3 days in Babagon, manage to land countless of small Kelah and the best of all… Landed some big Kelah on flies…
Nik Rahimi landed the biggest Kelah, estimate about 1.5kg, Nick Ooi landed a slickly smaller one estimate to be about 1.3kg, Eddie Lim and Faiz landed about 1kg … All in nymph pattern… I’m most happy cos all these fishes landed on my ties… Dragonfly nymph, gummy stonefly nymph and latex stonefly nymph…
Will up load the picture once I have compiled all the pictures… Keep an eye on Pancing Magazine in the next 2 issues for the detail story and exclusive photos from Faiz…
Bravo Dron and the gang!!!
Currently in Copenhagen…there is a lake just in fronl of the hotel that have pike in it!!
(and can’t see any mayflies!!!)

Dron, thanks for arranging the trip!!! it was a nice and memorable trip!!! really enjoy myself there.
Yup, the outing was enjoyable, the fishing was good and the company, even better. Thanks Dron, for taking the initiative to organize it. In fact, I think we should have more of these trips, esp. for the newer flyfishers … don’t have to be far far and expensive ones … just a weekend or day trip to areas in Semenjung will do.
As for Babagon itself, my humble opinion is that feeding with pellets should not be a standard thing if our fly fishing/fly tying is to improve and made more enjoyable … after all, many have proven this trip that the better fishes can, and are, in fact, caught on nymphs. Iianm, one of the better fishes was caught by Nick using one of Dron’s stonefly creations.
So Dron, when’s the next outing? [:D]

Hans,
this will be one of the place that I plan to bring you… I loss 2 of your klinkhamer to the fish…
There was hatch in the late afternoon, the fishes are rising for some small brown colour insect… Will need to match the hatch to catch them with dry.. I think the klinkhamer might be the answer.
Need to break the code of ‘Pelian’ ( golden Masheer ) , so far… we know they took nymph, dry flies too… But which pattern suite them most…? Will find out together…
Thanks bro Dron for the wonderful trip. I personally enjoyed every minute of the trip. A very nice and unforgetful trip especially being together
with the gang for 3 days, fishing non stop. Tiring but a good one.
Also my thank you to Kim, our driver, William and his guide and Mr. Japrin for their hospitality. Lets establish one spot like Babagon here in
Selangor or somewhere nearby, like KKB or Karak. If they can do that over there, its not impossible to set one over here…
