Really wondering??? … Why are some surf anglers very obsessive of the sport.
The thought of the requirement of specialised tackles/gears being too costly, high risk to injury due to its high performance sports, technically mind boggling, endurance, blah blah…would easily shunt people away!
But surprisingly, not to some of us, including me…he he.
I’m hooked because:
It keeps me wondering…why this works? what’s best? how to be consistent etc.
Same question I asked you at Starbucks last time and I am still trying to figure this out from the surfcasters…

For me is the distand that I achive. When I load the rod. Seeing the sinker being cast out from a starting point to an end point. Then measure how far that i have cast. It really doent matter catching fish or not is the distand that I Aim to achive that satisfy me. He he he he

Yes, we discussed this in lenght right? … but mostly that was our assumptions, would be interesting to see what they have to say.
Maybe this will stir some interest and maybe we can have another Malaysian caster to break the 220m record…he he.

Definitely won’t be you Aji Aznaff or me nor En.Rahim, we aready pass the time. If climb the hill or Air Tin </font id=“size2”> </font id=“red”> (can drink)or Crack Off masuk hutan can la hehehe…
Anyway, I really can’t figure out this sport yet…I mean I’ve been to your tournament twice at RRIM field, and saw you guys cast like a ballistic missile. It is like a an Olympic distance throwing tournament. I chat with a few surfcasters and they are really passionate about their sport – the equipment, tackle and the whole process itself. It is something the rest of us have to understand.

Its a heart stopin sport.[;)]
Casting :most powerful of all casting type. Its like holding a gun in your hands,With that comes responsibility thats make you humble.
The andrenalin rush every time you cast and keep casting for more.
Perfecting the cast little by little.Remembering 20 or more things during a cast till it becomes second nature to you is a feat when every things happens four seconds or less.
Controlling your reel feeding the line without crackoff at 30,000 rpm.The smell of your thumb burning sometimes similar to sotong kering bakar. The reward if you pass the thumb burning process, the ability to control any multiplyer of any size.
Body movement the combination of cha cha dancer, baseball player, golfer, javelin thrower, sumo wrestler, and power lifter. As a reward you just might be able to join hernia asociation in the future.
A sport that celebrate casting.Every tournament is a stage that celebrate casters.Casting tournament requires dicipline casters to do their best to beat their best.
A sport for all ages and sizes.Only one requirement, you must want it.When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.
Skills and knowledge thas makes you a better angler a better person.
So…when is our next Starbucks session, do call me when you’re around ya.
Anyway, I guess distance/sports casting is like fishing on land. I normally joke around on the casting court with new casters that the distance they achieve is like catching fish.
For instance, 100m and below are all the duris and belukang area..he he, 130m-140m tuka and gelama, 150m-160m gerut2 and sembilang, 170m pari and 180m and above are where the senangin and jenahak area.
The joke was on me actually, many of them finally caught the senangin and jenahak already and I’m still with the pari…cheh!
What keeps me going for sports casting and surf fishing is obviously to catch “bigger and quality fish”, although many times I come home empty handed, I’m still craving to go for more…he he.
