met bang patin yesterday.he let me test his new 1 piece rod to fight the 1st pacu.was there chit chat with him and pakman from 3:30PM until 5:30PM.

guys any report from laguna?.. havent been there the past two weeks and this week also cant go in… miss the place like hell..

was there in laguna yesterday after more than a year plus i guess! What shocked me the most is the water level has drop tremendously..easily 10ft or more ! thats a devastating sight and the rubbish around/over/in/side is just a shocker. I wonder what is the fate of this paypond in near future. My take, is that the owner never once took any role in perfecting the place in sense of fishing,cleanliness, etc.
To top that off, a latter caught a staggering 8.2kg Toman caught on dedak ! That’s interesting, minus the sluggish fight for its size as it has the biggest pot belly ever. Well fed i’d say. I was on the zero count and cant be bothered to continue fishing with the horrible surrounding of mozzies, foul-smelling place and the rubbish.. Lost a lure to some rubbish in there. Sigh.. Well just a take on what Laguna’s last feat ever !..

bro..agree..but toman on dedak…wow..second time i am hearing…could thsi be the hong attract small fishing like lampam and tilapia around it and toman try to ambush it…instead of sucking the fish ,its sucked the hoooks instead..

But Laguna still puts me off and wont be able to go back there again..its devastating and HIGH HIGH chance to be contributing to the Dengue sickness !..careful lads..

Those guys are probably correct. I have been keeping fish in the house for many many years, and have realized that given time, they will adapt to the environment that they are in.
Could also be the reason why the Pla Buks in FV did not get turned on with my " Thailand " bait - but went for TJS’s lures instead.
As for Laguna - stopped going after my first visit when the stupid mossies nearly knocked me off my chair.
I’ll strongly suggest to not go there, although is nearby to many city dwellers ppl. Its such a waste that they don do anything to make things better. Given a chance to others who owns such a prime land in the middle of the famous city..its piss poor management and the one that I have the most pity is the fishes there ! Lack of oxygen,rubbish,polluted waters (e-coli) and the list goes on
Take a breather and go for trips to the wild You’re better off there..ehehe cheers guys

Haven’t posted here in a long while. I fully understand some of the more recent comments on Laguna i.e. shrinking water level, dirty, neglected etc. But seriously its not that bad laaa. You pay RM 10 and can sit there until 3am, if you sit there long enough you can get about a 50:50 chance of landing something really big i.e. Patin > 3kg. Just protect yourself well enough against the mozzies. The staff and regulars there are friendly enough. I don’t go there that often, but when I do I almost never fail to get at least 1 pacu. Most recent catch was a 6.5kg Patin on bananas in mid Dec. Laguna can still surprise you. I just hope that i don’t see the pond shrunk to a small puddle!

Actually poppers works on and off i.e white coloured poppers which the patin mistook for floating bread. And after being fooled for a few times will avoid the poppers until everything is forgetten.

Never fail with bananas ,eh?. Good to hear that it still works.
I was there a few times early December and of course, armed with my fav bait, bananas. It was ok, but rather slow and mostly effective during the day time.
There was one time on one Saturday about 3.15pm that I landed a big pacu ( about 'Taufoo’standard size).It took the banana almost as it hit the water on my first cast. (I was yet to pay the RM10) and the second cast landed me a patin (jackpot for that Saturday) just about 10 minutes after that.Then the rest of my day/night went quiet..no takers.
