The Saturn Kaboat (kayakboat) shown in LOTM’s video of Air Kuning PBass in the Freshwater Fishing section looks great. Anyone know who sells it and how much? Googled up the Kaiross brand … looks just as good.

yeah the kayak fishing is not yet popular in Malaysia, but i think it will be when there are facilities for this sort of sports, but one thing is to import the kayak is abit expensive, so may b thinking of producing it here locally so that more of our angler can enjoy the different concept of angling here

Hi guys.
Thought i’d bring this thread up from the grave

I too have just recently picked up a Mission Catch 390 and tried it out a couple of times in Penang so far.

Had it for a few weeks and so far coastal has been ok, cept when sea is rough of course.
Have not seriously fished from it tho, merely trolling a lure behind me while i practice my strokes kekeke.

Tokwan, if you are up for setting some time aside where we can have semi-regular kayak fishing sessions around Pg and neighbouring states, lemme know

Not only Tokwan of course, anyone else for that matter ehehe!

That’s the way to get more fish - get out regularly and expplore new areas. Trolling is ok - especially real close to the rocks in 10 to 15 feet of water with a deep diver. Micro-jigging, soft plastics and lures in the rocks will get you even more fish! If you are using live prawns, 20lb flouro leader either straight through to the hook on a 3 feet long hook-length or rigged drop-shot style will do the trick.

My kayak has just arrived with the movers - now I’m back in KL and looking for some fishiy spots!

JustJobe, I been kayak and board fishing for years, but always lakes. Going out to sea is sort of a dream for me. Is it difficult? Paddling against the tide and all that? Is seasickness a problem? How far would you paddle out before the fear factor kicks in? Do you install a fish finder on your kayak?

idpearl, ill be sure to be looking at more rigs once im comfy with the paddle hehehe. Now mainly will trawl and cast whenever i can. Thanks for the great info!

LOTM, the waves are something to content with out there. As for seasickness, never really got any so far, but ive only been out a few times, and near Pulau Jerejak area, there really isn’t much waves, so maybe in choppier water can kena heh. Ill only venture further out if i have a buddy tho… i think its a tad dangerous to do solo.

And no, not yet got a fishfinder, but im looking at some humminbird models… really dunno much about them so more research needed.

Tomorrow heading to Perak to try it out in the Sg Kerian river… just finishing some DIY pvc rod holders so i can do some udang galah hunting hehehe
