hey guys…
i’m really frustrated now la. freakin’ disappointed. i just feel really crappy coz past 3 days, clocked about 20 hours of fishing here n only got 2 fish. that also before the boom.
went for boom last night at 12+am n saw ppl leaving with 5-6 fish all. even first timers leaving with 2-3 fish. then when i sit down not for long, start raining.
first time i go for midnight package, first time ben put 100+ fish in, rain decided to pour for a freakin’ 7 hours. if din rain, i’m sure can get at least 2-3 of the 100+ fish in there. the rain somemore so smart, start when i go in, and stop when i leave.
then just now afternoon hotter again, wanted to go, but got family stuff. so couldn’t. next few days no time for fishing and no money already also. spent few hundred over past couple of days. got no hasil to show.
guess i’m just ranting la. sorry la guys, sound so negative. not angry at anybody, but just frustrated that my plans for the weekend, after losing so much sleep n money… got nothing much to show for it. just feeling pissy la.

usually if u ask most of the experts there, they’ll say right-hand side is better. close to the sangkar, cast from right-hand side, just a few metres from sangkar. play float or casting. that’s what the experts there do all the time. once, i saw a guy play casting at the spot just beyond the sangkar and got 3 siakap in 10 minutes!
u can play near the sangkar (coz most likely guarantee got fish under there, just whether they bite or not)… or u can try from either side’s (left or right) toilet area, cast to middle and reel back a bit.
actually, this place the fish can be anywhere la. coz i see ppl lift up so many fish from every spot. (everybody except me… sobs).
haih… all the best ppl. go get 'em 100+ fish n the 9 pcs of 4-6kg siakaps! coz i know i’m not going to be able to. no time n money dy. maybe go back in a month’s time la. must forget this horrid weekend first.
Any idea on the depth of the pond ? What is a typical length between float and hook ?
Have not been there for more than a year - but will go mid next week.

think about 8ft-10ft deep la. maybe deepest is in the middle about 12ft? have to check with ben again. forgot what he told me dy.
typical length i see the regulars use… between float n hook… is about 7-8 feet i think.
this morning, a pakcik was showing me his float rigs. he keeps a few of different lengths so he can be more prepared for various situations or water levels. he gave me one so i can go home n learn how to tie like his. the one he gave me was about 8ft from hook to float.
guys, anybody fish there today? reports? any big ones up yet?

erm… the hook up rate litte slow… seen lot’s ppl take SIAKAP go back but not much MJ… i got 1 MJ around 1kg… really give a good fight with 15lbs line… i sell to 1 uncle seat next to me rm5 only… coz the fridge still lot’s fish…
BTW Ben your place got ppl buy fish??? btw the uncle complaining the MJ very small Size!!!.. but for me at least got fish will do… hahaha…

most of the mj quite small. i think range between 800g to just over 1kg. but they’re still nice to fight with for me. and big enough for one table la. not too big. so should be ok. i think old fish not as nice to eat also, right?
can’t wait till next boom la. dunno when. so sad this time boom i kosong, coz came when hujan. hope next one is not too long from now. this year got chance sumore or not?

When there this afternoon to look look see see bite rate ok,see alot people caught fish on the right side at the back.

I went to your pond after work on Friday but it started to rain and it got very heavy so I also cabut. Wanted to go on Saturday morning but it was raining again. I think this whole week cannot fish as it will rain and rain. Unless you are those hardcore than different story. I will go again when the monsoon is over.
