what pondan colour? i already have 2 types of blues, 2 types of red, 2 types of yellow, black, 2 types of green, silver, white… so thinking of getting a can of purple to make some difference mah

GPS - long long time ago you posted you have made some lures from discarded VCDs. Why not share some of them for inspiration here.

looks like yr spray paint collection is building up [:D]

some other pondan color u might need is voilet and pink [:X]
of coz, to balance things up, u need also macho color like brown and metalic black [8D]

Haven’t been really doing my own lures these days, but here’s 2 done in between watching World Cup 2006. Still need some lip tweaking to optimise action though.</font id=“blue”>

Left is 4-6ft diver, tight action with about 10 degree roll; Right is a flatsided lure on steariods LOL (I got carried away & decided to carve in details anyway)

purple…use light blue as the base coat. cover with pink/red transparent spray…gives a very nice toned purple. and yes, it’s a pondan color. so far i only heard they’re good for trolling tenggiris. hehehhehe…

How did you get the indentations within the scales? Manually poked each scale or with some gadget?

nice scales pattern! how did u make it? until now i still do not hv the confidence to do foiling and scale pattern [:P]… or should i say too lazy [:D]

a very good start! how’s the action? 1 suggestion, trim the lip and rise the angle to 45 degree and see what’s the differece [:)]. this will give u a tighter action

gee… without my notice, i’ve started (or fallen into) this lure-making thingy for more than 3 mths now, still not productive enough… just did about 20 lures so far (inclusive of abandoned projects [:D])

I made the scales by using a hammer handle. Its a small hammer.

I tried in the water already can swim. But dont know lar if can swim or not if i retrive fast.

good effort n the scale is a beauty

ya, yeapwl is right
the lip is too broad especially towards the lip slot area
the lip angle is too ‘up-right’

if its a floating lure, my guess is if retrive slowly, the lure will hv a wide wobble n dive no more than 8-10"

try it out n see how it works
dont woory if it doesnt
u hv just made your 1st handcraft foiled key-chain hehehe

stick around n hv fun making yr own lure [:D]

the lip material hv been discussed somewhere in this forum

the norm will be to use 1.5mm or 2.4mm thick polycarbonate sheet

there are lips made from aluminium in the market as well, no worries [:)].

or you can mk somthing without lips e.g stick baits, pencils, poppers, vibrations…
