Do you have any blanks besides Xzoga Blanks? I am planning a trip to Indonesia for some GT popping... I am not too sure what i really need as yet, but i am told that they are using PE8 gear, so I am looking for something in that range, probably PE6....

My criteria is simple, I want a light weight and reliable rod… think that is possible.
Probably around that range, I already have a custom PE4 popping rod…

No pain no gain, dont try dont know… muahahahahaha

I have my own composite blank 6ft 6inches, heavy stuff with thick wall and power tip can sustain 20 - 25 kg drag.
I can build a pe6 XZOGA with aluminum screw joint [my design] can sustain zero failure. overall length 7ft 6inches, but it will cost you 1K.

Uncle “T”,
How does the “aluminium screw joint” rod looks like. Care to post some photos if you have. I dont think I’ve ever seen or heard of one.

Thank you.

Hi Unc Thomas,

Thinking of getting one of your light medium 6’ 6" rods in the near future.

Usage: multi-purpose, ie lure casting, live bait casting, bottom fishing - to be paired either with the Daiwa Certate Hyper Custom 2500R and/or Sustain FE 2500 series
Line: 20-30lb braid
Targets: papa tomans, papa baung, featherbacks
Preferences: Deep metallic teal (darker version of the new proton saga colour or alternatively like the Lemax iT Sport’s deep green), cork handle. Don’t need my name but your brand and signature would be a privilege to have on the rod.

Are all your blanks matt black?
Composite better suited for my needs?
Is fibreglass needed?
Difference between single foot and multifoot guides, please?
Differences, pros and cons of cork vs EVA foam, please?
Advice, concerns, opinions welcome.

Please also differentiate the light medium and light versions.

Thanks very much.

Thank you for your interest in the light medium TS ROD, the blank is graphite composite, the color is carbon matt black. The standard fittings are Fuji reel seat, Fuji sic guides [single or double legs], plus rubber butt.

Optional choices:
a] eva handle can be black, camo blue, camo shocking green, plain red, plain light blue.
b] binding can be black gold lining, blue silver lining, red silver lining, red gold lining, green silver lining, yellow silver lining.
c] cork or eva depending on choice of customers, but I strongly recommend eva handle for durability and easy maintenance.

Note: I cannot change the color of my blank, unless full binding of any color of your choice and coated with epoxy.
THOMAS STROKER STICKER , SIGNATURE, Customer’s name is optional.

Kind regards,

www.jdartac.com

Thanks very much, Unc Thomas.

EVA camo green it is then.
Rubber butt replaceable after wear and tear?

The yellow and blue parts, are those what you meant by binding?
I think green/gold would be my preference.

I kinda like the orange/gold part on the middle rod here, 4th from bottom, with red handles:

Guess I’ll need to make a trip to Malacca [:)]
Wifey’s due to deliver end December, so it’ll have to be:
a) early December
b) 1st quarter of 2010

Will call to let you know when I’m visiting then.

Thanks again, Unc Thomas.

Honestly acheong, I do have plenty of design, sometimes customers want me to follow their design, but mostly customers just tell me what reels they want to match and leave the design to me with their specified colors, then I design according to what I could catch from the conversation and churn out something what he has in mind, and bingo, he falls in love with the rod at first sight.

I am assuming you like something light to spin the whole day, be it mama toman or sebarau, pb, siakap, tengirri, etc…and if a sailfish comes along as you are drifting for tengirri, then you take up the challenge, the rod can handle the fight, no sweat at all.
See this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvdR6RW4XYA

You are most welcome to my shop in Malacca, my son Joa will attend to you, can also test drive with some rods that he made.

Regards,

wkl2020 has very kindly (Thanks wkl! [:I]) helped me put in my order coupla weeks ago, since he’s in Malacca often. Yay! [:D]

btw, you’ve got mail.

Thanks again,
