NEW RANGE OF THOMAS STROKER RODS

Hi Sam,

In all honesty, I have not used the Loomis or Shikari rods, as I concentrate on my own product making sure that reliability is maintained, most important testing all the range of rods to failure during R&D period to ascertain zero failure is my utmost concern before putting them out in the market, I hope you know what I am talking about.
You can safely order one from me and try out, bet you have no regret.

Uncle,

I understand perfectly what your saying. At least there’s an assuring quality control which I know you went through all the trouble for it. May I know how is your warranty service like? Do you cover 100% for damage of faulty rods and components? Because G Loomis only covers half of it, components not included. Personally, if I’m paying premium price for a premium product, warranty services would be one of the deciding factors to choosing the brand. Especially for a custom rod, where I’m especially anal about the quality of the finished product. Haha..

Hi Sam,

I know exactly how a customer feels, same as the way you put it, you expect the best for the price you pay. My warranty covers rod material defect, workmanship on binding, construction of handle[ covers rubber butt cap, eva butt, reel seat and fore grip] if any of this give way [within one year], I will replace them FOC with postage on you. As a matter of fact, all rod breakage is due to human error, a good rod will not break without abuse. Most anglers put the blame on the rod without realising the mistake made [within split seconcds]
and will not admit the error. All rods can break if not used within the specifications, common faults are extremely hard striking, high sticking, overloading with lines higher than specified, accidental breakage during the last attempt when the fish dives under the boat, pulling the line at the rod tip when the line got stuck, etc, etc…
countless mistakes which the anglers will not admit.

However, I always maintain a good relationship with customers’ complaint of rod breaking, bring back the broken rod whether it is rod defect or accidental breakage, I will replace a new one with 50% payment plus postage. Without any arguement with the customer [even though I know fully well that my rod will not break because my rod is tested with full load hauling before I send the rod to customer], I always agree to build a new one with 50% payment. Only the guilty conscience remains in him if he tries to cheat me.

Uncle “T”,

Just wondering… would it be possible to rebuild/convert a spining rod to a baitcaster, trigger grip rod with spiral wrap guides?

If its possible, could you give me an indication on how much the whole cenversion will cost?

BTW excellent looking rod there them “T.S”. Looking at a PE2 and/or PE2-4.

Thank you.

Unk Thomas,

Can your rods be used for light jigging?
How would you describe your rods in terms of action and feel…
Can i also have the rod weight, lure weight and line rating for your rod…
The reel I am looking to couple my rod with are …
Revo Inshore
Luvias 3000
TQ

No pain no gain, dont try dont know… muahahahahaha

Hi LS,
Sure, all my light rods can be used for light jigging,
The blank is about 20gm in weight, line class is is 6-12lb,
completed rod with standard fuji reel seat and sic guides,
the weight is not more than 200gm. Can be converted to spinning
or baitcaster type with ACS REEL SEAT.
May be can do one baitcaster for your Revo and one spinning type
for your Luvias.

This I can definitely consider, however I have my concern is the casting weight… what is the rating for that?

12lb line class might be a bit too light for what I want it for…but then I might be wrong bec I am definitely unfamiliar with the traits of your blanks…

Just a few more questions if you dont mind, you talk about 12lb line class… what does this mean?
Is this blank a fast action blank?
What is the taper for the rod like?
Would I be able to load the rod hard say if I were to hit a 6kg and above Mack on a jig…
Oooh yeah… can the rod be made in White & Black colour?
I am really trying to get a good idea on this… really keen to test power…
Also what is the pricing on a PE4 to PE6 poppping rod… 2 piece butt joint? 7FT and above hehehehehe…

No pain no gain, dont try dont know… muahahahahaha

LS,

My light rod has a fast taper tip, and the rod has good locking power 2/3 down the butt. It is specified 12lb, but I field tested and landed 30+ kg sailfish using 20lb xzoga pe line. See the pictures on the bent of the rod.

WRT the XZOGA POPPING ROD, the heaviest is ONLY PE 3, PROVEN AND LANDED 30KG + GT BY SKY AT THE TRENGANU OIL RIG. I can build one for you at RM800.00

Do you have any blanks besides Xzoga Blanks?
I am planning a trip to Indonesia for some GT popping… I am not too sure what i really need as yet, but i am told that they are using PE8 gear, so I am looking for something in that range, probably PE6…

My criteria is simple, I want a light weight and reliable rod… think that is possible.
Probably around that range, I already have a custom PE4 popping rod…

No pain no gain, dont try dont know… muahahahahaha

I have my own composite blank 6ft 6inches, heavy stuff with thick wall and power tip can sustain 20 - 25 kg drag.
I can build a pe6 XZOGA with aluminum screw joint [my design] can sustain zero failure. overall length 7ft 6inches, but it will cost you 1K.

Thank you for the prompt response, as I would need to buy at least 2 popping rods, just in case one decides to fail during my trip at least I will have another to use, rather than sit on my arse and twiddle my thumbs for 5 days and not being able to fish…
(Note: I am not saying that your workmanship or materials are faulty, just that sometimes humans.. that means me and you might screw up and at a crucial point where i am traveling to a place where i cannot find a replacement rod, better just to have another rod sitting there and waiting to be commissioned for duty)

Anyway, let me think about this and I need to do more research on this matter, I will let you know on my decision…

No pain no gain, dont try dont know… muahahahahaha

LS,

Is wise to bring a spare rod. Well you never know what monster
you are going to hit, my policy is to ‘always expect the unexpected’, is better to have a strong rod which ‘can sustain zero failure’. I can build one for you. Let me know later on. cheers.
