hmmm… as ur question suggest… i think it’s very depending…
so far, i think i use soft bait more than any other types of lure combined, from the time i start casting perhaps 10 years and average fishing once or twice a week
i found that, for haruans… too much variables to take into consideration. Locale of the area, tackles, plastic size, weight, sinking rate, hardness, length, size of fish, fish aggressivenes and so on and on i don;t think u all interested
ok, the truth is, hornet stinger is one of the best sp rod i ever have the priviledge to handle, but mine is 8-20 6’11’. Usually i love longer rod for plastic application. The stiffness of the rod is ngam2 so that u can feel the bite yet can strike in time
as for the lucut u experience, no worries it’s just an experience that will teach u to be better next time. Timing is crucial when setting hook using sp. But depend on situation, nowadays my standard is 2-3seconds before striking
but that will varies according to condition. If the fish are bitting fast and letting go even faster, i strike the moment the fella take, but most of the time i lose the fish, in that kinda situation i lost more plastic than usual but our ultimate goal is always the fish, right… but why 2-3 seconds? because not everytime fish hang on to ur bait, i like to feel the bait move a lil before i confirm it’s a hook up. There’s even time i leave my bait for the fish to hold for over 5 seconds, esp if telltale sign it’s a biggie( but tat will risk the fish being gut hooked, usually wont be as bad as using bait no worries)
it is better for the fish to spit out of ur lure than u strike blankly, as everytime u do so the haruan would be spooked. I would work the place again if that happen, or change to other plastic, or even reaction bait like cranks tat have better hookup rate or spinnerbait. As long the fish is not spooked, chances are u still have a second chance
well, last but not least, this is wat i found for haruan soft plastic fishing ONLY, other fish other style.
think i must have bored u all haha… anyway good luck and be confidence in fishing!
I only have 13 years of fishing experience, so must beri tunjuk ajar!
