Daniel,
Try and make a trip to Labuan, about 20 minutes by flight or 2 1/2 hours by road. We have decent size specimens of Toman on the island. Biggest landed so far is about 11 kilos, I have some photos of smaller specimens.
Drop me a mail and will arrange for you to go for a lure casting session

Nice one Patrick..[:)] Been there a few time, got hit by toman a few times but never really hook-up [:(]. The pond is huge man, is rite in the middle of labuan island! If you fly to labuan you won’t miss it from the plane…[:)]

Hi Guys,
Yeah, there are heaps of good size toman in the Merinding Reservior. They have been resident there for about 8 to 10 years.

If you guys are coming to Labuan, drop me a mail a few days before, I can arrange for you to do some toman fishing in my favourite lubuks. They are only accessible by boat and the toman usually fire up about mid morning during a windless day.

Best lure to use is Rapala Tail dancer CD9 size for the deep open areas, but recently I have been using Frenzy Popper Frog. Very effective.
