Suggestion on places to fish on public transport?

hey Kagerou .. i would like to know the secret of your dough and btw i think u know my bro Kingsley Sia.

I am just 12 years old learning to fish

Hopefully this topic is still alive, it is 2011 now, wonder if there’s any fishes available or are they gone for good? btw, it seems to me like a nice place to cast. I’m currently converting from seafishing to freshwater. To get more action in it..[:)]

With this post stating the exact location & the available fishes, I’m quite sure it would have been raped thoroughly.

Kickassmuffins, I’m staying around Subang/Shah Alam area. I am not around KL on weekends, will be in Seremban, N9. Anyway, if you are into freshwater fishing, I can recommend you my training ground. Got my 1st Pacu & Jelawat there. The place is Empangan Air Kuning, inside Taman Pertanian Shah Alam. CnR, RM 18 / day. Opens 7am to 7pm.

I don’t know what level of proficiency are you. If you know how to rig a hook & float, then u can go there. Otherwise, somebody needs to coach you the basics. I assume you mention ‘1st time in freshwater’, so means you have done saltwater fishing?

Oh nice.. But as I read through the other thread, they said Air Kuning there fishes are hard to tame, I mean to hook them up. But as for a beginner, I will definitely try there for luck.[:)]

Yup, I’ve used to sea fishing in Port Klang, near the jetty and some other places in Westport, but not as challenging cause the method I use is mainly bottom fishing; just hook the bait, cast, and wait for fish to hook.

Plus, I’m doing fishing to past time and with the little experience on hands, even to tie a knot I will just tied it dead using a common way or a lazy person would do it.[xx(] So hope to learn more from people in this forum and to make make friends around.

Yes, Empangan Air Kuning fishes are no easy game. As the place is strictly CnR, those fishes which had been hooked b4 becomes weary & get smarter, also, CnR means the fish can grow to XXL sizes!. Therein lies the challenge! That place is a thinking fisherman playground, how to outwit the fishes. I’ve been there more than 20 times & each time I go will be slightly different experience, sometimes good, sometimes bad but all in the fun of sports fishing.

I’ve lost many hard lures there & had also been challenged few times by BIG fishes, most of the time I loose to them. Either hook get spit out, line snapped or they drag my line until whole spool is empty (underpowered reel). A fellow angler also lost his rod bcoz he didn’t secure the rod & it flew off with the fish. Sakit Hati.

Checkout this website. It makes learning knot & loop tying much easier. If we meet up, I can show you how to tie them but you must practice it on your own.

Got to release the fish fast. Don’t keep it on surface longer than 5mins. Normally, any fish I caught (in the wild or CnR ponds) I will release after taking photos. Gently put the fish into the water, don’t lar throw it back like garbage. Sometimes the fish could have fainted after being out of water for too long & got to slowly massage it back into action.
